w00t ! this seems to have worked ... altho some times it works and other it dosent . also i tried to reboot windows and it worked for a while. but now the only way i can play is to turn off windows explorer . open it again and click on the gta_vc.exe for about 3 minutes

LOL . Since liberty Sicty i know that there would be a game called "san andreas" and "vicecity" cause on gta2 or 1 (not sure) there are 3 cities . LiberyCity , Vice city and san andreas . so what rockstar games made was create these cities in "3d"

whats does mta.ini has to do with the "plain" vicecity game?

Kent . But the problem is not on MTA . Its on VC . I donno why . WHen i click on it . It shows that little ced spinning . and then it juts comes back to the normal windows mouse . And nothing happens . I checked the background tasks and no sign of VC ... This is the first time i ever saw this happen with anygame

To host a game . Inside the directory were you installed mta should be a file called "mtaserver.conf" open it with the notepad . Edit the info . Save it . Then go into the mta directory and open up MTAServer. a black screen should appear and your server is ready

well . ime is NOT read only and it works . i think that dwathb is telling you to change the options and put it read only so that the client cant change it back .

Im not sure if this will help ya . But you cna go to Start>Run> Type "dxdiag" And hit enter. It will show all your sys info . including stuff about directx . you can also test each thing . like videocard, sound card, directx , and some other stuff

try deleting everything again . and also delete the mta file in the windows folder. and let the program create one for it selfe

Ohh now . dont start with the petitions . Remmember when ViceCity was comming out for the pc ? Make sure that you did not mark the mta.ini in the windows folder "read-only" . And this windows should only pop up the first time you start mta . Since mta dosen't know what version of gtavc you have . but after the first play . it should record this info and never ask again . Also . Here is what mine mta.ini looks like : [Main] Nick= IP= Port= SavePass=false Password= VCGameVersion=0 [game-vc] location=C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto Vice City - MTA\gta-vc.exe [game-gta3] location= [Remote Admin] Username= SavePass=true Password= IP= Port= **Fill up spaces if you you copy this *** But what you should pay atention most is were it says " VCGameVersion" Make sure that , that is there . and add 0 for 1.0 and 1 for 1.1

I dont belive that they will make the game engine from scratch , cause if they did . it would take more time to release than October 19 .... 'think so

we took the model of the decals from nfs u and re-made new ones with the idea of the ones from nfsu to vc.
