  1. Hmmm... I guess I agree with this. This would make some things more realistic. For example you can make it in RP that when you've met someone, that you can see his name. Otherwise, you can't. Smart idea! Maybe something like health would help too. So showPlayerHealthbar or something. That would make it even more realistic! I imagine people IRL walking with healthbars! Someone falls off a bike, his healthbar decreases...
  2. And to be honest, how would the other notice it being delayed... And it costs an extra function to make it work... So well, I'm busy on it. Now that the 2 worst distractions are gone, I can now (hopefully) concentrate on working on this. Let's hope I can finish it soon.
  3. I think he has already done that Eh? Me? Me+design=epic fail... Believe me... =/ Anyway, I have made a list of features (or whatever you may call it... More kind of a crappy list...) in about 10 minutes with a few demands or whatever... I don't even know what I typed anymore actually... =/ Note that the column unreadsms already exists in the latest version I gave, but doesn't work yet. I'll get on it soon enough. If there is something you miss on the list, say so. Otherwise it's too much work for something not done yet...
  4. Ehm... If you're creating GUI already, then you can also immediatly make a few labels... Way more effective I guess. Anyway, I guess I'm going to dinner in about a few minutes, and well still have some homework that needs to be done... (the horror! D:) So I'll post the newest version. Just in case. HERE it is. Note: The biggest new additions are 2 settings and SQL support. Not much else is added. Ofcourse, some minor things and a single bugfix(call someone and say something without that he answered the call yet in the previous version... ), but well nothing major furthermore.
  5. @ churchill: Tried it, but it looks BAAAD in my opinion... =/ It's barely even a window... It's just almost equal to a label, except that it's even harder to understand how it works... =/ If you guys don't mind, I'll keep it how it is. Looks good and no pain in the ***. And what do you mean? You want a COMPUTER for calling?
  6. Well, I guess we chose for it on purpose. So I don't think it'll change. Also I like the current look! And by the way, it's not going too well with the textdisplays... I'll keep on trying, but it's a bit more difficult then I thought... =/
  7. I'll see what I can make with it. (1) Good idea! But I'm not sure how to get this fit in... As you might have noticed, the current engine does it in the chatbox like this: < You: BOO! > Other: BOO! So I'll need to do it in some other way... If you know how... TELL ME!!! (2) You know, this is actually already implented for the biggest part. onPlayerChat isn't being cancelled, so you can still "hear" someone talking without being in the same conversation. Still though, I was already looking how to improve it. I'll make a few options you can turn on/off to increase compatibility. As was clearly visible, the call engine works. But, it's FAR from done! PS: For the ones who haven't read it yet, SQL part is done and am now busy on these parts. I'll delay SMS a bit.
  8. onClientMarkerHit is a DP3+ only event, meaning it doesn't work with DP2.x... Solution is making a colsphere at the same location and the same size, then calling onClientColShapeHit instead. I think this isn't as effective, but does make markers work client-side. EDIT: Fixed link. Lol.
  9. That is not a bug. Well, with more and more onPlayerChat events producing more and more messages seems like a bug to me... =/
  10. Left that in for debug reasons and for when scarface isn't online... ^^ Was added in the latest version. Because it seemed so weird... ^^ Hmmm... Well am already changing the engine alot, and I think that might be a good idea. (see below) Cool. In the meantime you can expect: -SQL support. (exterminating the last few bugs ) -SMS. But SQL is needed for this to happen. And not sure if I release the SQLphone first. -Something else... I guess I want it to be a secret or something, since I have no idea... EDIT: SQL is done, removing some debug things and then I *might* upload it already. But it's very likely I'll atleast attempt SMS first.

That would mean I have to miss valuable seconds of scripting Lua! I'll stay! Anyone opposing will DIE from a throw with my expensive cordless mouse, my useless keyboard, my 2 speakers, my charger for my cordless mouse, a screen, another since I have 2, a couple of CD's and DVD's, a joystick, a clock with empty batteries, a micro-microphone, a bunch of wires, the case of my PC, a lot of books of school, my desk, a lot of wires and a finishing touch... A big cupboard! Anyone trying to touch me or my PC will get that - and more - right at him. Might he survive, he'll die from the bill. Ofcourse I don't want to pay for the damage...
  12. Are you running any other community resources? Since I think this happens if you have event "onPlayerChat" atleast twice and none of them is canceled. If so I hope it'll be fixed with DP3. I don't think canceling an onPlayerChat event in an external resource is a very good idea... =/
  13. Well, they're not always bugfree. And well, aslong as it isn't critical there is no problem I guess? And well, I don't know how the freeroam resource exactly works... I think only the creator knows exactly how to fix it. I can give it a try, but I'll do some other things first.

Anyway, I have a tiny huge update. The first button on the PDA now shows a small dial window. (who want's to redesign it? =/) I think it needs to be thought through a bit smarter, because where are the hangup and pickup buttons? But well, see it for yourself, right HERE. And how about if you press "call", that all the buttons disappear and the new options for the calling appear? So normally you have call, SMS etc. If you press call, then you have something like "dial" and while calling "hangup" and/or "pickup" appear. Good idea huh?

  16. Well, I'm done with the calling engine. You can just dial, pickup, talk and hangup. The rest still has to be done... =/ And well, I'll send it. EDIT: I'll make it work with some standard GUI support first. ^^
  17. Ok guys! I guess it's finished. We'll finish up some beta testing and then I'll upload. This is a small prototype though, and might need some adjustment. I'll edit this post with the link as soon as it's uploaded. Where we are? @ home ofcourse... But what do you mean?
  18. Hmmm... Already done I think... And no sign of scarface... Anyway, do we have any idea what we're going to make of the 6 buttons? Something like... -News -Phone -SMS -Weather, with churchills betterWeather -Flight modus, so you can't accept calls..? -A little game for on your phone. Lol honestly don't know... Just something random typed in a topic I guess... But we do need to think about it already. If it's done already and then we're still with those placeholders...
  19. I sometimes noticed this in DP2 too. Rarely, but it was actually there. Too bad I missed the last 2 beta tests though...
  20. Agreed, it does seem a little pointless. It would be handy in some cases, but for most cases you won't need it. And it also isn't essential for RP. However, it would be useful to make MTA a bit more capable with websites. (and requests as churchill calls it) The advantages are not really obvious right now, but adding even the tiniest of scripting commands would open a lot of opportunities. Btw, I'm back as you can see and going to continue again. Only problem is that scarface is yet offline, and I can only test by calling myself... (which also is the reason I found those bugs I was talking about so late... )
  21. 1. I think it depends on the script. If it only occurs on one server, and everybody else has this, ask the server to change the gamemode to something else for a small moment to see if it occurs there too. 2. Speak in console? You can type things like "gamemode stealth" to start stealth, saying works pretty much the same way. But the command is "say [message]" instead. (not the brackets, just to indicate that's the spot to type your message. )
  22. Ok, about the character is REALLY weird, but REALLY true... Even on my 8500GT I have that... Never had much other problems... =/ Anyway, is 1440x900 a standard size? Try changing it. I think there might be a problem with that... =/ Also, have you ever had graphical issues with other games? I guess not with GTA:SA and SAMP, but maybe other games? And with all MTA options turned on, does it then work correctly?
  23. The calling... Sort of... Works. Only 2 problems: -The caller will not be able to talk after a minute. (was during testing. Fixed now) -The one being called can't hangup. NEVER... Untill disconnect... And if Scarface is talking about it, I'm testing it on his server. Since mine is acting a bit weird... But Scarface, shhhh! Don't say too much yet. (Like that it's crappy so far! )
  24. Aye gotta restart the server now. Whats the command to make the console talk? Also how do I load up the entire map so I can get the server off the black screen? I loaded the "freeroam" zip into resources, it's the GUI mod. When I get the server restarted so my login will work, will the "start resource freeroam" work? To make the console talk? You mean to talk inside the server window? Try "say message". And try "start freeroam". The word "resource" isn't necessary.
  25. ... OOPS! Lol actually already made it part of the script... But well, doesn't matter. Aslong as the phone comes along nicely! The advantage of the buy script already activated is that the random phone number already works. They're 6 number 0 to 9 random digits. It also checks if the user already has a phone, and if the phone number is already in use. (using a garbage bin at 0,0,5000 as phone server saving the numbers... LOL) I haven't mad it work with the GUI yet, and it's inside a whole different resource. I'll make the functions export capable so they can together form one, or what may be a smarter choise: Merge them together later. But I don't know what button is supposed to do what, that's why I did it this way. Calling others already works by the way, but the only thing you can do, is hanging up... I'm on it for changing it. Just so I'd explain a few things and tell about my progress so far. Oh and some extra suggestions are welcome, but I'll do it my way for a while and adapt it later on. Is a bit easier.
