    Help

    https://forum.multitheftauto.com/viewtop ... 90&t=24392 Also, please don't double post.
  2. Ok, since there have been something like 11 billion topics about that damn map editor now, I figured I'd take the liberty of making a collection thread so we won't have map editor problems spammed out all over the forums. First of all. MTA. You need the latest nightly. You can find it here. Second, you need the data files and the net module also. You can find those on the previous page. After downloaded, one of them's an installer, the other has a readme telling you exactly what to do. Now, you need the latest resource pack. Guess what? You can find it on the page I gave earlier... Now you can try. Start the server, start the editor by typing start editor, join the server. It should work. If it doesn't, it's probably your own fault, so remove everything and go through this whole thing again, being careful to read, understand, and do everything. It should work. If it still doesn't, that's very odd, since it should. NOW you get to post on the forums. Just, please spare us from another "HEEElfplapflapflepllpplppllplPLPLPLPL!!1111" topic not explaining your problems, make sure to post in this topic, of course AFTER seeing whether or not somebody has the same problem as you. Use proper language, (we can obviously not help you if you can't communicate with us,) punctuation, just do it by the book. In short, try not to look like a retard when you post. It doesn't increase your chance of getting any help at all. I hope this has been helpful...
  3. If you're going to nag about this useless "feature" that shouldn't be inflicted upon MTA taking away the precious time of developers, please do at least restrict it to the topics made for discussing it.
  4. Either the badPlayer parameter or the money parameter is never passed - probably the money one, otherwise you'd also have other errors/warnings.
  5. I don't know of often I find myself saying this, but newsflash: we're not psychic, we need all the information you can give. Line number. Error message.
  6. Learning to read, type and use forum search would all be very useful.
  7. Forward ports: game port, ASE port (game port + 123)
  8. You seem to have noticed, but this wasn't an order; it was a recommendation and an encouragement. You don't need to bitch about "me deciding when the devs should play". But face it, how many of the reports submitted into Mantis are shot down, closed or deleted because they're duplicates, have too little info or the submitter has too little knowledge about the mod to make a good report?
  9. Basic checklist: - Map editor only works with 1.0 nightly releases - if you have DP2.3, give up and install 1.0 already. - Get latest version of the map editor from http://code.google.com/p/multitheftauto ... loads/list - Make sure the files are in the right folder - server/mods/deathmatch/resources, unzipping them MIGHT be a good idea, but should theoretically not be needed.
  10. Sure, but then the devs would probably end up stuck organizing the stuff which would defeat the point. I just suggest that a few of them take an hour or so in a server, just playing normally.
  11. You're still not getting free scripts. If you want someone to script this much for you, get ready to open your wallet and pay the man. I suggest you come up with some offers here.
  12. As I very clearly stated, I don't know: I just get the impression that they don't, seeing as there are quite a few bugs that would be on the tracker if they did. The whole point is that reports from an average player such as you and I would definitely be less useful to the developers than first-hand experience, since their knowledge of the mod, its structure, its potential "points of interest" as far as bugs go, where in the code this or that "symptom" could originate, etc. etc. etc. Bottom line: we average players don't know jack.
  13. So, it occurred to me that devs might not have all that much experience in multiplayer gaming on the latest revisions, that misc. testing is either alone or with only few people. (I obviously don't know, it's just a suspicion.) The thing is, there are any number of bugs that can be hard to describe and document properly for those of us without a real understanding of how the mod works. It seems like a waste to let devs operate on random whining of random usefulness from random players on random revisions, instead of having a playing session once in a while and experiencing the bugs in person. This is just a thought, but one I think you should give some consideration. I recommend you setting up another "public beta" so you can get a few players in on the playing session. (More players = more potential of bugs popping up.)
  14. Already solved... do you even read threads before replying?
  15. No, resources can be either zips or folders - the former is of course easier to install, but the latter is of course much easier to work with for scripters. And no problem.
  16. Tried /server/mods/deathmatch/resources, though? That's where you should place it.
  17. I wouldn't say there's any mystery at all... Download resources from here.

  20. I HOPE I misunderstood you, but it sounded like you were trying to connect your nightly client to a DP2 server?
  21. Uninstall MTA , GTA:SA and then reinstall them. And about mods: they generally are a bad idea. Car mods aren't the most "harmful" ones, but you never know, and to be on the safe side, you'd better not use them. Individual client mods are frowned upon anyways, since certain forms of it can give you unfair advantages, making it cheating.
  22. I get another error too when I read your thread, it says " We do not understand German! ". Turns out that's Dutch. Language much?
