  7. i think it's just that like in other games (e.g Crysis) bullets just have no effect on tanks at all...

    hm... i just recognized that tma and norby already answered while writing this post but anyway here's an example: node = true index = 0 function count () while node ~= false do node = xmlFindSubNode (xml, "gploc", index) index = index + 1 end outputChatBox ("There are "..tostring(index).." subnodes") end --note that you'll have to set node = true and index = 0 if you want to call the function again Maybe there are easier ways to do this but thats how i got it working

  11. Hm... the problem is that i don't bind the middle button to a destroy element function but by checking which button was pressed when the onClientClick event was triggered. So the buttons can only be left, right or middle... Sorry that i missed to make it compatible for people who dont have a middle mouse button.
  12. i think he asked for a way to add new resources to the server and use them without restarting the server so it recognizes the new resources And to answer your question, yes just type "refresh" into the server console without the qoutes. Alternative you can just use /refresh in the game if you got admin access.
  13. You'll have to take a look at the admin.zip resource. In one of the .lua scripts there is the function written that checks if the serial and the username exists.

Just for the basics: MTA DM uses resource that are in the folder heavy already told you and theses can contain .lua files which can be gamemodes, scripts for general use (teleport script, admin script etc.), .map files that are designed to give every player the ability to make there own maps (once the offical map editor is released) for a specific gamemode without any scripting knowledge. In more complicated resources there also might be .xml files as config files that the script reads from and picture files the script can use for a gamemode or just for a little logo on the screen. And then every resource has to contain a meta.xml file in which you can define things like the author, a description, the resource type (gamemode, map, script), the .lua files that shell be used for the resource and many other things. A good help to start off with lua (at least for me it was) is the MTA Wiki which can be found here: http://development.mtasa.com/index.php?title=Main_Page I can recommend you this site: http://development.mtasa.com/index.php? ... troduction to learn the very basics of lua scripting for mtadm and if you still have some questions you can always ask at the channel #mta.scripting on the irc (see here for more info about the irc: http://www.multitheftauto.com/irc.html)
  16. you can use the command /votemode to start a vote which gamemode should be started next or if you have admin access you can also use /changemode [mode] [map] to change the mode and map directly. PS: It's always good to type "help" into the console or press f9 for the ingame help
  17. in order to use the mta:race map editor you'll have to install race v1.1.1 fist and then install race v1.1.2 in the exact same folder

  20. in ordner to save a map you'll need to create this folder: mods\map_editor\maps an easier way to skip all this is just to install v1.1.1 and then installing 1.1.2 in the exact same folder
