  1. But if you got serial problems you cant login at the wiki because it looks if you have a serial for safety reasons. In my case i was able to edit the wiki all the time but then my serial on mtabeta.com vanished
  2. Woah thats a lot of code Errors: You forgot "then" really really really often. You forgot to use "elseif" instead of "if" at some parts where it was needed. You wrote "or or" two times. (Syntax:) if blah == poo then --Note that using brackets like " if (blah == poo) then" is optional --do this elseif blah ~= poo then --do that else --do nothing end If you use "elseif" or "else" after you made an if check there is no second "end" needed just one to close the first "if" line. Anyway i corrected all syntax mistakes and i commented non-working parts/lines out. You will see them so you can fix it yourself. http://deddalt.pastebin.com/m4e5ce68b The second script seemed to be ok but i renamed all "next" to "nextt" because next is a global function or whatever that is used by lua. http://deddalt.pastebin.com/m5c1ae81
  3. My and many others serial dissappeard too thats the same issue as everyone has even if you were able to play mta before. All you can do about is to wait, really!
  4. The first error you get can be safely ignored and the second one is because you used type="server" in your info tag in the meta.xml but it should be type="gamemode" if you want to start the resource using "gamemode rrp". The attribute "type" in the info tag specifies the type of the whole resource (which is important for other resources like mapmanager/votemanager and so on) so it can be either a "gamemode" a "map" or anything else when it's just used as a utility script.
  5. The serial is hardware generated so even if you get a new hotmail, computername and a new mtabet.com account your serial will still be the SAME! I'm entirely sure you can bypass this serial system like any other banning system but there are actually like 0.01% of mta players that know how and as long as no freaky computer nerd writes a "How to" for unbanning/changing your serial you should be save from most kiddie cheaters.
  6. It has a point... Do you remember banned cheaters in mta race coming back every minute because they can simply change their ip via router reconnect?! With the serial system you are finally able to ban someone permanently! And if a cheater really pisses of a lot of servers/players the mta team/qa members are able to ban someone from playing mta at all! (already happened a few times in the past)

    ACL Question

No that wont work. That way you only would grant the resource to have access to admin functions (like kickPlayer and so on) Not sure if there's an easier way but you would have to code a check into the resource that checks on several parts of the script weather the player that tries to use the script is an admin or not.
  8. my serial dissappeard too as well as my mtabeta.com stats...
  9. read this: viewtopic.php?f=89&t=23255
  10. No you dont need a new serial... The problem is that as soon as you connect to a server it tries to verify your serial with the one your account has on mtabeta.com but as you dont have a serial on mtabet.com (just like me ) you're not able to play as long as the serial generator is down. mtabeta.com = community.multitheftauto.com mtasa.com = mtavc.com = multitheftauto.com Edit: Reinstalling won't fix it because the installer checks your serial on mtabeta.com too.
  11. no it wont... in dp2 you wont see a list at all
  12. If you only want specific objects to be in dimension 1 you could simply make a new element type in the map and make it parent over all the objects that should be moved to dimension 1. Now using this code: function checkmap () local dimelements = getElementsByType ("dimension") for k,v in ipairs (dimelements) do local children = getElementChildren (v) for k,value in ipairs (children) do if getElementType(value) == "object" then setElementDimension(value, tonumber(getElementData (v, "dimid"))) end end end end addEventHandler ("onResourceStart", getRootElement (), checkmap) and this map: <map> <object posX="234" ... /> <dimension dimid="1"> <object posX="567" ... /> ... <object posX="890" ... /> </dimension> </map> Every object that's a children of a dimension node (in this case the object with an xposition of 567 and 890) will be moved to the dimension definied with the attribute "dimid" of the dimension node. Edit: The code might not work cause of typos or whatever but i cant test it atm because of mta not working here... Edit2: I used getRootElement() on purpose! getResourceRootElement(getThisResource()) wouldn't make sense in this case.
  13. To answer some question befor they get asked: NO nobody knows when the serial server will be back up and NO there is absolutely no way around this problem so please be patient.
  14. Wrong section and your answer has been answered in many other topics already... Anyway: Atm the serial server is down so no-one can install mta currently (me too) just be patient and to clear some questions up that might appear: No nobody knows how long it will last and no there's no other way to install mta.
  15. i just asked around in the scripting channel and here's how it works: _G["functionname"](arguments) --e.g. function test () outputChatBox ("blubb") end addEventHandler ("onClientLick", getLocalPlayer(), _G["test"])
  16. (Sry accidently double posted because of the server downtime and clicking refresh one time too often )
  17. not sure if it helps but this would be the code for a command named "/setdim" that moves every Object on the server to dimension 1. function dim () for k, v in ipairs (getElementsByType("object")) do setElementDimension (v, 1) end end addCommandHandler ("setdim", dim) Note: If you load a map/create a new object after executing /setdim the objects will be created in Dimension 0 though. No Warrenty that it works due to the serial server beeing down i could not test it...
  18. Install race v1.1.1 first and then without deinstalling 1.1.1 install 1.1.2 in the exact same folder as 1.1.1. That was the easier way; Alternativly you can do: 1. rename the "editor" folder to "map_editor" 2. copy the models folder from MTA San Andreas\mods\map_editor\ to MTA San Andreas\mods\race\ 3. create \mods\map_editor\maps
  19. Thats the problem. The speed is NOT the same for Both (Though the explosion is displayed correctly on both clients). As far as i can remember it's that in gta sp the rocket moves really slow if you aim at a car (slower than the normal rpg) but if you shoot at a plane it's way faster because it wouldn't reach it if it was so slow. In MTA i experienced that the guy who is flying is seeing the rocket at a speed that the rocket would have against cars but the shooter is seeing it flying at a higher speed but in fact the explosion position results from the path the rocket had at higher speed.
  20. Do you really think anyone will give you precise date?
  21. Join the mta irc (irc.multitheftauto.com) and go to the channel #mta.scripting. Just ask there and you should get some help
  22. True and it's the same with setObjectScale() but Doomed just made a server-side function named "setObjectScale" that will trigger the client-side function setObjectScale on every client using a custom event so it will be synced.
  23. http://development.mtasa.com/index.php? ... _functions And another whole bunch of new functions for DP3
