  1. Then you clearly should.
  2. You'll need shell access.

    DEGENATRON!!!

We could sync peds, and its somthing we might look into post blue (we won't have it in the intial blue version). The current core doesn't have the technology to do this though - if it were to try bandwidth usage would be high. No, we won't make a special lan version... We don't know how many people play on LAN, but I expect its less than 1% of the people who play on the internet... so its not worth us spending what would be a huge ammount of time and effort on a feature that only a tiny minority would ever use. This question has been answered hundreds of times. eAi
  4. As I've said in the Known Issues thread, send the exe to me and I'll work out whats causing it.
  5. Read the Known Issues thread. Locked
  6. I'm afraid we don't proactively allow particular programs, its up to their developers to make them compatible. eAi
  7. MTA:mA:GRS version 4.0 has been released. MTA:mA:GRS is a set of MTA:mA scripts you can run on your MTA 0.5 server that provide useful functionality, including global statistics reporting - so you can see how you compare to other players on any server running MTA:mA:GRS. You can read the MTA:mA:GRS 4.0 manual here and download it here. You can view the MTA:mA:GRS stats at http://www.mta-stats.com. MTA:mA:GRS is only for server admins, and is entirely optional. MTA:mA for MTA 0.5 is required.
  8. We'll release new media when we're ready. At the moment we're in the middle of a restructuring process that will make blue much better from a modder's (and concequently a player's) perspective. Once this is complete, we'll be able to start developing some interesting things we might be able to show off... As for a public beta that isn't decided yet. eAi
  9. Go to the companies that host in the US and ask them to run MTA servers (if they don't already) and if they do, point out how stupidly expensive they are compared to these prices ($20 a month for 12 slots)... You can always point them our direction if they want more information on running servers. eAi
  10. Although I've never rented an clan server, this looks a pretty good deal to me
  11. We have an agreement with UDPSoft (and now Yahoo!) through which they give us access to a customized SDK in exchange for the in-client logo, website logo and installer logo. Normally they charge for this. eAi
  12. Known issues isn't a list of strange things in the game, its a list of problems that will prevent people playing... eAi

    mtachat.txt

It probably isn't Anyway, added to known issues.
  14. I'll add it to the todo list for patch 2 (assuming it happens). eAi
  15. No, there isn't one for IP. If you PM your email I'll send you a server with this added. These commands are used by the in-client server, and were not designed to be used by anyone else - thats why they aren't documented. Of course, you're welcome to use them. If people find they're useful, I'll add some more and put them in the help. eAi

    mtachat.txt

These files contact chat logs. They're scattered all over thee place due to the way MTA must have been launched. If you launch the client from another folder (e.g. using a shortcut) ensure that the "start path" (right click -> properties) is set to the MTA install folder. I'll make it so it uses the install path in a future version. I'm suprised theres so many versions though... eAi
  17. If this was during the install, it almost certainly was due to the MTA protocol handler (that makes mta:// links work). You can probably ignore it. Try installing, restarting and installing again and see if it still happens. eAi
  18. I don't think anyone on the team is going to veto an idea just for the sake of it. We'll do whatever the community wants when it comes to gameplay, as long as its reasonable. The problem is finding what the community actually wants, and not what the few vocal people want (while the happy people play without complaining). eAi

    Annoying problem

Have you read the "known issues" thread?
  20. It'll come when we consider it ready. The new client interface and features were designed with the aim of making it easy to use in mind. I think this has been mostly successful - no more telling people to download ASE and telling them how to set it up - not more problems setting up servers. As for not connecting straight away when you join from ASE, thats because there was some strange things that happened if you tried to do this to a server that you timed out on - the client wouldn't show until it timed out (or connected) successfully causing some users to get confused. If I get time I'll look into a way to delay the connection to after the window is painted for the first time, but I don't really consider it a major issue. eAi
  21. Have a look at the download page (which you visited twice): http://www.mtavc.com/mta05/download.php WARNING MultiTheftAuto 0.5 is not compatible with Windows 9x, this includes Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE and Windows ME. eAi
  22. As Mike said, if the server has an invalid url or a bad server in their motd, the client will crash on connect. This will be fixed in a future release. eAi
  23. You've clearly got some strange window open. Thats almost the only thing that will trigger that when you aren't actually cheating. eAi

    Continued

Nobody can acccidentally get a cracked client. Download MTA from our site (well, our mirror list) and you won't have a problem. eAi
