    A few ideas

I think it'd have to be done in a smallish area with a small number of items, say 5 or 10. You could have icons over the heads of the people showing what they had, or you could make them follow behind them in a trail, or whatever

    A few ideas

    I like both those ideas
  4. We will provide an interface for the stats system, so it'd be entierly possible for this information to be stored on the server between sessions and then set again when you join again. This may not be in the initial release though.
  5. I can't really say this for certain, but I find it unlikely that delphi could compile a dll that would run with MTA. DLLs have to be very specific - everything has to "line up", if it doesn't its not going to work. What could be done, is someone could create a mod that would act as an interface for a delphi (or visual basic) mod, perhaps using COM (you'd have to for VB I think). I'm sure its possible to do, but I'm pretty sure you'll need some experience of C++ first to map things across in a mod. Of course, someone else could do this for you, if you're lucky.
  6. You will need a fresh install as a base, you'll then be able to install mods on top of that. These will be mods specifically developed for MTA, though depending on the mod type, these could be converted easily.
  7. Its fairly hard to "hack memory addresses". It used to be somthing I did a lot, now with blue, we don't need to do that at all really, so I haven't been near a memory searcher for over a year... It can be fun to do, but frustrating at times. Have a play around.
  8. The San Andreas version takes considerable priority over the Vice City version, though they can, in the future be developed on side by side.
  9. This is why blue is so good... after the inital issues we had, we were in-game playing within 12 hours (albeit without full sync). With the old (0.2-5) core that'd have taken weeks or months to do.
  10. 3d markers are those pretty 3d things that tell you where to stand or stop your car, or how to get into a building. The image shown is a 3d marker using the same model as the checkpoint. Radar markers are still used, though of course how they're used is entirely up to the mod developer. In a race mod, like the one we're developing at the moment, all the vehicles will have a marker I expect. That'll probably be optional, blind races can be fun
  11. That was because it was found that although the method was fine with around 4 players, with any more players it because very lagged. With hindsight, we shouldn't have announced it, and its because we get accused of lying that makes us so secretive. One one hand you want us to tell you about the development progress/process and on the other you don't want to know about features that aren't in the final version. Sadly they're mutually exclusive.
  12. What "cool features" have we shown and not put in? I can't think of any, personally.
  13. It'd have to be done with an instancing system, similar to the way mmorpgs work. Its not really very hard to do, but the benefits are fairly minimal compared to the other tasks we have to do.
  14. Its not somthing blue will initially support, we think, but the core certainly allows for it to be added in the future with no major interface changes. Thats not a promise that we ever will see this or implement it. Its more likely that it could be used for co-op missions where a limited number of user-created peds are synced.
  15. As DomSpy says, players are peds, they're one and the same.
  16. As far as we know, MTA was the first mod to add online play to a single player game. There have been others who have copied with GTA and with other games, with varying degrees of success.

Good point, posting in the wrong section didn't help. We could hardly make the download link on the main page more obvious or prominent...

You'll know when its out, watch the main page or http://www.mtasa.com
  19. Vehicle customization will be supported, probably not in the initial release though.

    The Map Size

    Players are peds.

    The Map Size

Thats the built in default. There are other limits of course, such as the graphics card and RAM. Each vehicle and ped takes up about 2KB.

    The Map Size

You'll be able to do the same thing that tool does through blue, without modifying any exes.
  23. As we've said over and over again, mods will be able to do whatever they like with SA. We aren't going to start limiting people if we can possibly avoid it.
