i dunno, i never ran mta from behind a firewall, but querying the ase port does spit out info, so im guessing that forwarding server+123 might make ase work. try it out

2003 = server server + 123 = ase (default 2126) server + 1 = something i forgot (default 2004)

wont work on 98. only NT based operating systems can have services (NT/2k/XP/2k3/Longhorn). it will load invisibly. u can turn it on/off by typing somthing like "net stop mta"

make it a system service! u can either use FireDaemon (i dont use it nor do i know how to spell it) or u can do i manually w/ the registry and stuff. thats what i do w/ Folding@Home
