call ur isp, change the phone cable that teathers ur comuter to the wall, change access numbers, clean out phone jacks, try another jack, switch isps

i HATE cox. before i moved, i had roadrunner, which was 2.5 Mbit/512 kbit. now i got cox and i cant even pull 1 Mbit down and my highest upload is 15 kB/s (bytes), where w/ rr i did 60 kB/s up. BAH!! Cable is shared throughout the neighborhood but u can be farther away from the central office (or watever u call it) and keep good speeds. w/ adsl, the farther u get from the central office, the less speed ull get (very noticeably compared to cable). also, cable has a lesser bandwidth limit than adsl, friends in newyork can do 10 friggin Mbits!!! FOR $60-70/mo USD! BASTARDS

more framerates WONT imcrease quality. thats impossible. quality is something very different than how many frames a second ur card can do. u can have outstanding quality and horrible framerates. or u can have horrible quality and amazing framerates... how... winefunweut !?!?!?!?! how can u get more quality w/ more framerates/!?!?!?1/1/1/ you boggle my mind

try different distros on ur computer? Slackware, Mandrake (meh), Redhat, Suse, Lindose (spelling?)

no. doing that means that the logon account lists will be unique for each server. that means registering ur nick on one server wont protect u from lamers ruining ur reputation on an official server. wat i meant was that we would need a GLOBAL server that hold all the accounts. that y we cant do this, that global server would need alot of bandwidth and would have to be up 24/7. i cant host that. any1 wanna give it a shot, be my guest

Tribes2 (and i think tribes) uses user logon. i dont think we can do that unless sum1 provides a nice server w/ plenty of bandwidth. most other games dont provide nick jacking, i dont think they do.

xp does NOT block ports. only the lame xp firewall (u have it off right?) if u start ur server and u cant connect to 127.0.0.1:2003, then theres a big prob w/ your computer.

i usually ban imposters/cheaters from my server. if i can, i check the ips from the fakers on my server with the real ppl on irc (if ur not using a damned vhost). unless u can provide a high bandwidth server thats up 24/7 and will be up for months/years, nick logons wont be possible.
