  1. Are you sure your computer has a static IP? Which Windows version are you running?
  2. First, check if you forwarded the port 22003 correctly using this website: http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ If the port is still closed, please state your router's model number.

There is a Server Manual on our Wiki. Have you tried following it?
  4. Make sure you apply Server Patch 1 Hotfix: Windows/Linux.

The main MTA installer has an option for "Server only" installation:
  6. Look at the original post's timestamp. vip550 made a two year bump.
  7. I've released a Server Patch 1 Hotfix that closes the motd.txt exploit. Included in the archive is an motd.txt which is set to read-only by default and contains a warning to not modify the file as well as information about the exploit. Considering the in-game MOTD currently only displays gibberish for other players, there's no downside to doing this. Otherwise, MTAServer.exe is exactly the same as Server Patch 1. If you have previously applied the workaround, there is no need to update to Server Patch 1 Hotfix. Download Server Patch 1 Hotfix (Windows) Download Server Patch 1 Hotfix (Linux)

  10. I assume you tried running MTA as an Administrator? Try adding Multi Theft Auto.exe and MTA Server.exe as DEP exceptions. To do this, go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> "Settings..." under the "Performance" section -> "Data Execution Prevention" tab -> Select the "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:" radio button -> Press "Add..." and add the two EXEs I previously mentioned, and press OK twice. You may have to restart afterwards.
  11. how do you get into mta and i'm using the server not the client??? Anyway, on a serious note, try updating your DirectX Runtimes if you haven't already. Does GTASA work properly in single player?
  12. Moved to "Support" section of "Maps". Thank you for reporting your post. If I recall correctly, that is an issue with the editor. Test your map in MTA:SA and see if multiple checkpoints show up.
  13. R* has known about MTA since 2003.
  14. Make sure you're pointing to the correct GTASA directory? Generally, it's C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.
  15. What, specifically, says "invalid directory"? The patcher?
  16. It seems that vehicle 49 is unsynchronized on all three islands. I've moved it to an inaccessible location as a result (to another island, more specifically). Strange that the last vehicles spawned for both MTA:VC and GTA3:MTA are unsynced. Adding the "quit" option to the gamemode selection screen has been a rather convoluted process as of yet. Have to figure out how to place another entry in the menu. Menus in MTA have always been pretty damn confusing in my opinion. Once those two things are done I'll start cleaning up the gamemodes and attempt to fix Turismo on Portland, then fix vehicle placements (some are too far on the sidewalk, have poor z-angles, etc) and do the american.gxt crap. After that I'll look into creating a team deathmatch based Portland, and maybe look into creating some gamemode(s) for Staunton, maybe Capture the Whoopee or something. I've also been updating the MTA 0.5 and Historical sections on the Wiki. There is very little traffic in those sections though, so it's not really paramount for me to finish at this time. Just have to add some pages for Staunton and SSV, and maybe some technical information about the MTA 0.x core and history.
  17. Not sure why you'd have two installations of GTASA unless one is clean for MTA and the other for mods, but glad you figured it out. If you jump to reinstalling Windows in an attempt to solve an application's problem that quickly, you must reinstall Windows quite often.
  18. Try right-clicking the MTA:SA shortcut, clicking "Properties", going to the "Compatibility" tab, then checking the bottom checkbox ("Run this program as an administrator"). Also try updating your DirectX.
  19. Right click the MTA:SA shortcut and click "Run as Administrator".
  20. [sAP]Yamil's is most likely Intel X4500HD since he's using a G45/G43 chipset and didn't state a discrete video card.
  21. Moved to "Client" under "Support for MTA:SA 1.x".
  22. Wrong section. Moved to "Media" under "General MTA".
