  1. and i know you are to lazy to go read that so i will paste it here: And if that is to dificult for you i can make it simpler:the answer is : NO
  2. I suggest you go back to start (http://www.mtavc.com) there you will find at the top of the content section something called latest releases and the last sentence of that section is important top you
  3. you can not add anything, we have pushed gta:vc to its limits. The only way to add more things is to increase the stack which is illegal
  4. the attack is still going, but the attackers don't have enough bandwith anymore. At it's top they had about 15 systems attacking. Yesterday when the site was available again they were still atacking at 3 mbit. I don't know how much bandwith is still being used at the moment
  5. this forum has over 720 smileys, if u can't find a decent one in those just link to some smileys somewhere else
  6. Again an attack. This time on the Wojjie Networks. This has caused the site to be unreachable during a big part of the day Wojjie Networks is doing it's best to keep its systems available for its customers, and they are doing a good job. I do want to stress that this attack is not directed at mta itself as far as we know.
  7. if you do not know with what to edit an scm i recommend to leave those files alone
  8. That link is dead GTA3AM was open source, MTA is not
  9. Well, i think i may call you ignorant then The price of a gameserver depends on a lot of things and is always a lot higher than that of some webspace. The reason is simple : bandwith and datatransfer. A game server generates a lot of traffic. A server running a gameserver (and i am talking general, not MTA only) takes up a lot of bandwith. This also generatos a lot of traffic. While most websites barely move one GB/month a gameserver gets to 10GB with ease. Another factor that determens the price is the number of player and if it is a public server or a private one. A private one needs to be kept close for general public at all time. Because it is only used by your clan there is a lot los traffic and the price is lower. Also somthing important is the service, how fast do they handle requests, what extras do i get (webspace, teamspeak/ventrillo, mapspace, ....) You need to take all those things in account and you will come to the conclusion that most sites have decent prices. But before you decide always read carefully what you get and what your obligations are. If for example you need a 6 months contract every time and after 7 months your clan dies you need to pay for 5 more months. Also try to find out if other users are happy about a server rented by that company and ask that company if you could test a server for a couple of hours with you clan that way you can look at the ping and lag
  10. The official does the same, but the names r different
  11. MTA is not open source, use search next time
  12. it seems rawk is correct : locked : READ THE FUCKING MANUAL
  13. No objections here I'll let you in on a secret : It is done when it is done For the release of GTA3:MTA 0.3b we gave ppl a release date, we posponed that date 3 times and in the end removed it. The release came 3 months after the first date we gave and i can tell you one thing : people were verry pissed at us. From now one we o not give any release dates anymore. If even professional programmers overshoot release dates by months (have a look at all those great gaming titles that should cvome out by the end of the year but or now comming out next year) how do you suggest we can keep ours. Hell even microsoft posponed LongHorn from 2004 to 2006 and where is Duke Nukem 4ever?

  17. Since a couple of weeks microsoft has suspended all support for Windows 98, this means that no patches will come out anymore (not even for critical errors). On January the first this will also happen for Windows Me. Despite what Win98 users think, Win98 isn't stable, at least not anymore. Due to the new software that is optimised for the NT based operating systems (2000, XP, 2003, LongHorn, ...) the stability of 9x gets compromised. Also a lot of 9x users seem to think that that the majority of people still uses 9x, which is not the case. Most people with newer hardware use a newer operating system since that operating system is more optimised for there hardware and therefore makes the system more stable and faster. When we look at compatibility for Windows 9x we see that more and more developers are dropping the compatibility. When you surf the net you see that a lot of small software projects have problems keeping there software compatible. Even Microsoft itself has now dumped 9x. Office 2003 requires Windows 2000 SP3 or higher. The game firestarter that has gone gold 2 days ago also does not support 9x. This only shows that compatibility is becoming more and more of a problem. We do look into the compatibility when we are tired of looking at all the numbers are all those e-mails. And we do make some small progress. It is not that we have given up on it, it is just not top priority.
  18. This is technicly not possible at the moment. We check for modded files but not for what files and what extra files you have.
  19. The original movie was the best for me, reloaded wasn't bad but could have been better and revolutions was just crap. There is no storyline in revolutions, it looks like it was written by amateurs, hell even i could have written that. The battlescenes were to long and there were to maney of them, i guess they had to fill the time due to the lack of some dialogs.. The only thing good about this movie where the speccial effects.
  20. i still prefer phpBB, if you want i can show you the upcoming phpBB2.2 admin cp or u can download the latest cvs snapshot from there website. On the phpBB site there are also convertors so if someone wants to switch from or to phpBB they can always convert there db. ipb has some nice extra features but it does not justify the switch for me. About the build in html editor, i don't like such things, they also still give you some limitations. I have created my own template for phpBB for another board and it isn't that difficult if you know some html and can work with a templateparser
  21. We have had this debate before, you love ipb, i love phpBB i have tried other bords but phpBB is still the best. I am also following the next major update phpBB 2.2 and it has a lot more functions than the current 2.0. And about the lay-out : i can make ipb look worse than anything you have ever seen. And what do you know about phpBB admin? i doubt u have ever seen the phpBB admin panel
  22. The downloadsection is finally fully operational . Some small updates will happen to it probably in the next days. We have added a webarchive. Here you can find all old versions of our site. The link is located below the sidemenu above the link to the site changelog. If you find an error in the site do not hesitate to report it trough mail or in the correct section of the
