I recently played GTA 1 on my LAN network (lol) now i know this is a OLD game, but me and my m8 we cud have fun working together to kill civilian, driving the train. And the traffic was ultimatly very irritating but u could just blow your way through the whole mess :P

However there was 1 option i was missing. The simple option to turn traffic to "off" :shock: and if it was possible to have peds and traffic in MTA (which i highly doubt, cause u proven it SO often) u shud have the simple server option to turn it "off"

oh and btw how do u chat i GTA 1? (i use teamspeak :lol: )

I also recently played networked GTA after connecting my sons old PC to my router for the first time, and you may have noticed that although the city is populated both sides there is little syncing, car types are different on both sides, ped positions are different etc.

goin a little off topic.

i've also heard that the netcode for GTA 1, wasen't very gd, but i didn't notice any unsynched peds :P

lol but reason for not noticing can be because i had WLAN to my neighbor (which lives 80 m from my house) i find TS to be a very gd way to communicate with my m8 when we r playin' on LAN.

Long time since I last signed in to the MTA Forums. Just to clear some stuff up:

1. Do you know how much bandiwith ONE player costs in MTA 0.4?

2. Do you know that a pedestrian would need allmost the same amount of bandwith?

It would be fun to collect a team and start killing off cops , and starting a war , but its only possible on 100Mbit LAN with a VERY powerfull server and good netcode.

I guess that ONE bot IS possible , only GTA Vice City doesnt have very good AI. Bots can follow you and attack you , I think that the bot would need a little good health and he should be your bodyguard or something.

But I also think that its very hard to implement...

But I also think that its very hard to implement...

the bots/bodyguard that u get when u completely complete VC 100 % in sp, have only 2 functions. Which is to follow u all around the city and to protect u. If I remember correctly they only atk gangs or other peds that bother u, if they get attacked themselves.

Correct me if im wrong, but wudn't this be rather easy to code? cause these bots r so simple (and useless)

ive used the search and i couldnt find anything where the devs said it isnt possible to implement a few AI into MTA.

maybe im not searching hard enough, but can you give us the link please?

im hearing many people say that its not possible but that doesnt mean anything to me because im not hearing any good arguements. there has not been an official word on this, that i know of. so as ive said, i'll shutup about it if the devs have already ruled AI out.

bots aren't totally impossible, but it will be in a limited amount, cause the bot uses his piece of bandwith too.

there was someone planning on doin a bot that cud be taxi and drive around the city.

i suggested this sooooo incredibly long ago, but here goes:

-don't sync peds

-remove all physics from ped interaction with cars/people. so they react to you, but you cant react to them (physically blocking your path while walking/slowing/damaging a car with their skulls/blocking bullets)

- have their AI intact so they react when a gunfight erupts

so you fight against real opponents, and the peds are decoration, just like the newspapers/debris on the ground. this opens up cool gameplay elements like blending in with the crowd to get a jump on an opponent.

i guess we have to wait untill blue is out to see how much more we can stretch the engine
