Looks good :) [question about mods, too]

Recommended Posts

a positive post by me, for a change :)

Yeah..it looks good. If it is only half as good as you all say..well..then it will be GOOD :)

- Just a question..how does that work with the moddability ? How do you prevent someone running cheat/mods/weapon mods etc. which give one player an advantage (the one who got the mod) - and the others dont (because they dont have this mod) ?

- the full moddabilty (hmm..is that even a real word ? :)...would that also mean something like a 'character creation' mod would be possible....where someone COULD write an add-on which allows the creation of custom characters which then are also FULLY synced/available/visible for everyone on a server ?

(means: Modding...yay...but does this mean everything modded is also synced ???)

- Did you (or anyone else) already plan/design/think about doing... some add-ons/mods...independently from the core eg. like a 'character/car/etc/etc'-mod which then could be included in the 'Blue' by default ?

Edit: just read the other thread...which explained some of my questions already :)

Lets just reitterate.

Just like with half-life, if a server is running Counter-strike, everyone who connects has to be running counter-strike, you can't connect with TFC. The same is true with blue, if you launch a server with modX on, every user who connects must have modX installed, or they won't be able to connect. Its that simple.

I have no clue about this . but there could be a option on the server to allow or disallow mods ?

I think it would be something like, you have an add-ons folder in your MTA directory, and when you connect to a server, it allows the relevant files that are allowed, to be used. Correct me if I'm wrong thought :)

ah .. so .. U want a racing server ..

U make a mod that changes the cars handling speed .. and share it with everyone .. So everyone MUSt have the same mod ?

If yes . that is Geneius

Yes, that'd be how it'd work.

this can't be true, lara and positive, it's like putting ice cream on pizza, both are great, but really shouldn't be together

u kinda read my mind, and the idea with mods allowed/disallowed as server option is good, i wonder if some1 really makes a mod server on a good connection

they DEFINATELY will be. im sure. gtalc hosted a gtalc server and provided a hacked client, but took it down now cause they realised it was promoting cheating. and Vice City Deluxe also has done they same thing. and then there's cudda world. i reckon that cudda world will have lots of servers since it was very popular b4. i cud go on...

but the question about cheating remains: what about the anti-cheat methods? u already thought of making modding possible, but what if someone makes a trainer just like it is being done now?

The team said that it's now easier for them to locate bugs and exploits, so any such issues could be fixed quickly.

OMG u should make a thing like VCM in the menue and u add your mods in a folder and in the menue of MTA Blue u but mods and it shows all the mods in that folder and u can easly install and unistall the mods. and also i think i am not sure u got some suggestions from me and u added them but not sure notg sure at all. probaply not but u know maybe maybe.
