bon3101 Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 Iv'e recently discovered the joys of modding cars. (not with mta) and i wanted to mod the players run-speed too. Is that possible? And if it is, how is it done? i tried looking around in other cfg's, but didn't find anything that was linked to the players run-speed. Thanks in advance.
vass69 Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 hmm player speeds, lol why? wanna get 100m under 10sec?
bon3101 Posted June 6, 2004 Author Posted June 6, 2004 yeah, and jumping higher. i just like fiddling with that kinda things
OpiuM. Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 it is in the main.scm i belive that is all i choose to say
bon3101 Posted June 6, 2004 Author Posted June 6, 2004 scm coding? is that hard? if so, is it hard to learn?
vass69 Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 hmm its easy to ask someone who codes to make it for u
l2ebel Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 Demarest (a guy from gtaforums.com) has made a neo mod for gta3 which makes you run faster and jump higher....and as fas as i remember someone is converting the code to vc (scm based) so just go over there and see and for infinite run you would have to mod the ped.ifp in gtavc\anims (i think)
bon3101 Posted June 6, 2004 Author Posted June 6, 2004 hmmits easy to ask someone who codes to make it for u well, can you code scm?
vass69 Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 nope but my friend sobeit can but havent seen him some time the easiest way for u is to search in http://www.gtaforums.com btw its been now 1 year for u in this forum
Si|ent Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 and for infinite run you would have to mod the ped.ifp in gtavc\anims No you wouldn't
Guardians Proper Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 I've coded in the main.scm, but never enough to find where the run speeds were... So I guess this thread is almost pointless. If it's in there, have fun finding it.

OpiuM. Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 couldnt you also do some mem hacking in place of .scm coding?
<VMP>Sobeit Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 nope but my friend sobeit can but havent seen him some timethe easiest way for u is to search in http://www.gtaforums.com btw its been now 1 year for u in this forum yes, its in the .scm, but ive unfortunatly been seeing this hack more and more on MTA, and because i really dont know you, youd better listen to opium and go with looking for the memory adresses involved with running, jumping is simple, look on the gtaforums, gravity, running though, i wont help with, i simply dont want to catch more heat

I want to be the first to tell you that the speed hackers like that aren't smart enough to even know how to edit an .scm file, much less mod their speeds. They're probably using a cracked client and a Vice trainer that has a speed up option... Vass: Yes, I haven't posted in the thread "MTAMA Scripting" in the Add-Ons forum...
<VMP>Sobeit Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 They're probably using a cracked client and a Vice trainer that has a speed up option... lmao, yea, that is pretty cheap
Guardians Proper Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 lmao, yea, that is pretty cheap Hehehe, well, if they had modded .scm files for their speed, would that be less cheap?! I wasn't trying to say it's cheap or not, it's just what they're doing...
<VMP>Sobeit Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 but thats like a half assed modding attempt is all its gay
vass69 Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 but thats like a half assed modding attempt is all its gay GAY
Guardians Proper Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Well, I wouldn't consider a speed modification in the .scm file a "half-ass modding attempt". Seems pretty difficult to me. In fact, any .scm coding isn't half-ass. I've modded new save points out to the floating houses, along with weapons and vehicle spawns on them too. Pretty cool stuff, though.
