dru Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 Whenever I try to install GTA:Vice City, it gets to about a few blocks off the end and says "Component Error: Catastrophic Failure" or something along those lines. Can anyone help? I've been waiting for this game for so long and I only got it today
Warlord Archon Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 Might be a defective game. Take it back and get another (hope you have your receipt)
True Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 I have had that error with WM radio feeds within Windows Media Shredder the few times I have had to use it... nothing else, though. Dont know what to tell you. Maybe be a bit more specific, if possible?

MTA Team Blokker_1999 Posted October 17, 2003 MTA Team Posted October 17, 2003 if i am not mistaking this is a problem with your CD-Rom drive, what Windows do you have?

Pic0o Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 Try to copy the files from you Disk 1 and install from a folder on your HD. If you say no to music, you only need Disk 1 copied over. No warez talk either, just an idea to try
dru Posted October 17, 2003 Author Posted October 17, 2003 i dont install radio anyway and it still doesnt work
Si|ent Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 Yeah thats a cd rom drive error, happened to me with unreal tournament 2k3. Three days later my drive stopped working entirely

Pic0o Posted October 18, 2003 Posted October 18, 2003 Do you have another Pc in the house? Map the CD drive and install, or just do a Cd Dump from the other pc Best way, Spend $30 for a new Cd drive

me Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 The drive might've been defectively manufactured... Or it isn't set up properly yet.
