It's just that nobody cares what people in the community think about the forums, apparently. And it's so much easier to avoid confronting the issue by ignoring it.

Or maybe it's because this is not a democracy. We like to think we listen to the community, but the community are not the final word.

i dont want to offend you or something (srly) .. but i got a deja-vu ..cause this is what admins/mods on samp like to say when somebody disagrees with them. :|

Perhaps you're misinterpreting.

Looking at things from our point of view, it requires a cohesive decision from all moderators and administrators of the forums, who originally decided that the sigs had to be removed. We have to evaluate whether the original issues that signatures presented have been resolved, then consider measures to enforce people to keep within the rules of signatures, bearing in mind every signature has to be moderated.

It's obviously important that the community wants signatures back, but we have to look at whether we're prepared to bring them back bearing in mind all the drawbacks. It's just like why the frontpage mtasa.com comments were disabled.

I'll close by saying that moderators such as Brophy have been optimistic about the idea, but you get robhol-like figures all over the place who are looking for a reason to bitch about how we handle the matter. Frankly, I don't think that presenting behaviour that questions our judgements or the decisions we make in a cynical manner will catalyse the process at all.

I'm not banning anyone for their opinions, but patronizing us will do you no favours.

And how is that in any way a practical difference from what I was saying? The fact that three out of four forum members want signatures and there's no good reason not to implement them that I can see, that can't be fixed. You might like to think you listen to the community, but in this case that's obviously pure bullcrap.

I personaly hate them

they are overabused ugly crap that just takes up more space in a topic than the actual conversation 90% of the time.

Well, you're one of 10% against now 73% who do want them, so too bad. The whole damn point is that people who don't like them can just disable them.

That fact that i'm here and have clearly acknowledged the topic shows that i've 'listened' to what everyone has to say. Let me reiterate the fact that it does not oblige us to make a decision either way.

And don't twist the argument. You know for a fact that the opinions stated by majority of moderators were made before they even became part of the moderation team.

To everyone else: assuming you are listening to us, changes are coming. Please be patient.

This is due to Attach a signature (signatures can be altered via the UCP) option when posting. When signatures are disabled on forums, this option is hidden and set to off by default.

You can edit your posts and set this to on to make them appear.

It's working now. I did that awhile ago but for some strange reason, after signatures were enabled only some people's were showing up. Literally after I made my previous post, they all suddenly started working. I think someone needs to clear the template's cache ;)
