One suggestion I would make to anyone making a custom arena is to build in the air. It would put less load and peoples games and would also result in instant death if someone accidently/purposely escapes. Link to comment
Leviathan Posted November 27, 2006 Share Posted November 27, 2006 well I'm allso working on a map right now, and it's an island in the sea and I'm going to use the biggest ground part possible, letting it face the outside of the arena so the non-textured part is just like an invisible wall around the arena so escaping won't be a problem, and it allso won't spoil the eyecandy (wich is more important than in race imo), oh and please people, avoid z-fight Link to comment

All objects can be removed from the file, because it only uses the interiors. My fourth map is called Jefferson Motel. This map is a deathmatch map for 32 players, in a large motel called Jefferson Motel. All object can be removed from the file, because it only uses the interiors. My fifth map is called The Four Dragons. This 32-player deathmatch takes place in The Four Dragons casino. Again, no suprise, all objects can be removed from the file, because it only uses the original casino interiors. Enjoy Link to comment
Obelix Posted November 27, 2006 Share Posted November 27, 2006 added 2nd map: he_grenade_arena if u have problems with seeing pic - its like voleyball arena, surrounded with fence and audience. there is 1 big fence in the midle-separates arena on 2 parts; and there are 2 stairs (1 from every side of fence) - to get across the fence if u want. teams: Ballas vs. Grove. weapons: hand grenades, molotov coctails and a katana. hope u'll like it (i dont like it much) Link to comment

CoZ Posted November 28, 2006 Share Posted November 28, 2006 i thought of a map - but ive abandoned hope i'll be able to make it myself its still some sort of nice idea , so ill share it .. maybe some map guru can make something really sweet map we all know our clasic games right ? quake 1, wolvenstein 3d, doom, duke nukem 3d, heretic what if we took a (famous) deathmatch map from one of those games and remade it in mta:dm ? (i gave up after 2 days of looking for a detailed blueprint for the old maps then it hit me that remaking one of those maps with the same feel as the old would take way long) well as ive said .. i gave up doing it alone - maybe some map guru with a lot of spare time can run with the idea would be nice to get a tnx for the idea in the credits from whoever takes up the challenge , but as long as there will be good maps im ok with everything Link to comment

Like, when u spawn in a team or alone, will u get some weapons? I'm right now making an asault map for 32 players and if i have to add weapons for every player..... Link to comment

If I can find a picture of a map (like the radar in gta sa so you can see where you are going) and some good pics how it look on the walls then I would give it a shot. Link to comment

I'm asking, because I wanted to create a map inspired by R6 Lone Wolf Multiplayer. And as it got me thinking, I don't know if it's possible to do it with only map editor. Link to comment

Here's a wild idea that could "solve" your problem, but I don't know if this is/will be supported: What you could possibly do is to add a health pickup at the same point as the spawnpoint in question and set the number of health points to be gained to a negative number. For example, if you want the person spawning there to have 5% health at the start, use -95 as the number of health points (hp) to be gained. You would also want to set the pickup respawn time to a suitable value to make it a once only pickup or at least to give the player a few seconds to make sure you don't kill the spawned player at start. If this is supported, you may however run into problems with players respawning, since the health pickup may not be active when a player respawns at that point... Link to comment
norby89 Posted November 29, 2006 Share Posted November 29, 2006 I created a map called 'Abattoir' (interior objects only) it's for 16 players (you may add more spawnpoints however the map is too small for more players).. it's supposed to be a dethmatch between clowns and butchers, I couldn't find a butchers skin so I chose one at random.. starting weapons: pistols/machineguns maybe shotguns.. have fun playing it! PS) if a butcher's skin exists and anyone knows the ID of it let me know, thanks in advance.. Link to comment
