VRocker
Hey guys! I've just been looking at the MTAVC 05 site and noticed 0.5.1 which said it was going to be released within a few weeks.... this was months ago maybe even a year ago! lol But anyway, i've been thinking. I know i've asked this question before on the GTA3 part of the forum but here goes again. PLEASE could one of the MTA team that developed 0.5 take 1 day out of MTASA to fix a few little things in 0.5? and heres the thing... it wont really require much work! and heres why... Theres bugs in MTAVC 0.5 which isn't in VCMP 0.1c or lower right? well VCMP 0.1c source has been out for ages so just 'borrow' the fixes lol the passenger bug for a bike code is fixed in there (i've looked and messed) Also here another thing, MTAVC is mostly used now for RPG servers as VCMP doesn't have a scripting system yet so mta's sync wouldn't really need fixing as killing in RPG results in people moaning anyway. Also heres a suggestion. maybe have vehicles defined with an ini (psssst, borrow from vcmp) so the servers can be differant. MTAVC has loads of features which make it unique! shame theres a few bugs and it looks as though its been abandoned So here me out and keep the mtavc players happy by doing this! Thanks! Brulla
1.) MTATeam has announced that they wont release MTA 0.5.1 2.) I dont think MTATeam would ever "borrow" something from another mod.. 3.) They are working on SA right now, they have no people working on VC at the moment, or maybe ever. PS: Its been over year of that "0.5.1 is coming soon" Link to comment
VRocker
they need to fix these bugs though! and you think the MTA team wont borrow anyone elses coding? Well lets look at these facts.... 1. The first MTA arrived thanks to a GTA3 trainer thing, IJs started MTA thanks to that program and its open source coding 2. MTASA uses a GUI system called Crazy Eddies GUI which is licenced under the GPL like the VCMP 0.1c source code And also i heard something a while ago about MTA blue uses something that kyeman once made. and yes they may be working on SA but whats 1 day out of SA to keep a few old school mta fans happy? If i knew C++ (which i'm currently trying to learn, its a bastard compared to delphi) then i would offer my knowledge to try and help. Link to comment
Oli
We arn't going to be working on MTA 0.5.1 im afraid. The code is seriously outdated and we havnt got enough people to spare to work on it. And also i heard something a while ago about MTA blue uses something that kyeman once made. As far as i'm aware kyeman used to code on the blue project, but i think all his code has been removed since he was on the MTA Team as blue has been rewritten a couple of times since then. Si|ent
0.5.x was cancelled due to most of us that were working on it going inactive or offline, the one remaining, IJs, was busy with GUI and other parts of Blue. It would be pointless to belabour the point and continue to struggle with that old messy out of date code when blue-based mta has so much more promise. Even if there was somebody left wishing to try. Guest
What kind of bull is "we dont have enough manpower to work on it." Realeasing GTASA was a stupid idea, leaving MTAVC in the dust. I think MTA should fix the old before the new. Why not work on gtavc for a while and leave GTASA alone. Link to comment
Jani
Because people bought GTASA and they expect a mutliplayer mod for it ASAP. There is already a MP mod for GTAVC, so it'll have to suffice. Link to comment

I think MTA should fix the old before the new. Why not work on gtavc for a while and leave GTASA alone. It would take the MTA team too much time to go back and become familiar with the old core since some of the people who worked on it left the team. IMO in order for them to fix the old they would have to port MTAVC to the new core since the old one was being pushed too far and wouldnt be able to handle any new features/improvements Link to comment
zerb
What kind of bull is "we dont have enough manpower to work on it." Realeasing GTASA was a stupid idea, leaving MTAVC in the dust. I think MTA should fix the old before the new. Why not work on gtavc for a while and leave GTASA alone. Releasing MTASA was a stupid idea? i think otherwise from my view. From your view it seems (though i could be wrong) you perhaps _dislike_ the fact they have developed the standard release of a RM mode or SA in general before another improved release of VC. However credit must be given towards the team because they have showed us what they can create on this new BLUE platform, which is obviously the latest version of their SA development of the RM. The SA:RM release was a good start towards showing the community what can be created within the new platform and the possibilites of better gameplay for the future and aswell _hopefully_ VC. MTAVC wasnt just dumped for good, it was perhaps pushed to the other side of the table however because people would like to see MTA:DM released and start a whole new experience in gameplay. The outdated code mean there was no reason to start developing on the old core or infact releasing 0.5.1. This would mean that valuable time would then have to of been squashed within the development of the beginning SA process, which a majority of the community would like to see released as _quick_ as possible. You obviously cannot do that if the time shedule is being changed for mixing between VC and SA. They do need their spare time to use life instead of just doing what most of them seem to enjoy most, develop MTA. Leave GTA:SA alone? Whats the reason being? The screenshots show that development is under way and work has already been started, as i've mentioned a few times already releasing SA:DM is their main priority at the moment. After that development is all completed and SA is of their back, then they will decide about the future possibly for VC and perhaps GTA3 or whatever they have in mind. Link to comment
MAD_BOY
0.5 pushed the core to its limits the gta3 version of 0.5.5 was great, vc kept desyncing, you're better off without it. Link to comment
