Kamahl Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 when you are driving vehicles like the vortex in the water, sometimes a wave instantly kills you, this is annoying because sometimes the spawnpoints are in the water and you die before the race start.
Si|ent Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Not sure why this is in suggestions. Drowning at spoawn is the individual map designers fault they placed the spawn locations badly. If the server is yours try editing the map and raising them all slightly. If it isnt then find the author and bug him
erorr404 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 You can also drown from big waves waves or jumps in the Vortex. It's a known issue, I'm pretty sure it's the same way in single player, so I don't know if something will be done about it.
orappa Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 In single player, you can make a large jump and submerge slightly, then pop back up again. In MTA, it skips the drowning process and kills you immediately.

Lethal.Ambition Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I'm sure once DM is implented (forcing the drowning meter to appear) we will be allowed to stay underwater for a longer period of time.
Kamahl Posted February 23, 2006 Author Posted February 23, 2006 is that comming with the 1.1 version?

Kamahl Posted February 23, 2006 Author Posted February 23, 2006 i know, but when a big wave comes you die and it doesnt matter where you spawn the vehicle.

Leviathan Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 depends on the weather and the location. the east coast of SF in example.

Ransom Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Yes that is irritating... one of the bugs I looked into extensively during beta was dipping under as boat and drowning... that got fixed perfectly at least. I'm not sure if chrml can do something about this...
Leviathan Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 being able to drown allso gives some cool nice new things to do, such as submarine races. (with a tank under water for a short while like crossing a river and shooting yourself forward)

Leviathan Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 being able to drown in race would allso be cool to make a splash-dip.

With or without a drowning meter, your vehicle will still be uncontrollable at a certain depth. If you want to fix the problem, you'd have to lower that depth, not increase the time it takes for you to drown once your vehicle has already become uncontrollable.
Leviathan Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 there are vehicles wich can recover from it. so it's a waste of their ability to instant kill them.
Kamahl Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 there are vehicles wich can recover from it. so it's a waste of their ability to instant kill them. yeah, such as the vortex
eAi Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 I've just had my MTA hard disk fail, but once I've sorted out a new disk, I'll look into fixing this.
