gtaman
i've installed MTA and when I launched it it had the logo stop playing with yourself" it was loading and then it disappeared after 4 seconds. I've reinstalled it several times. I believe I have 1.0 and no patches that I know. I've used a trainor, but i dont know if that effects it. Can anyone help me out? I just hope it isn't too complicated. Link to comment
Capone
Ya can try these.. 1> Uninstall GTASA & MTA. (Then Delete the GTA SA & MTA Folder in Program Files) 2> Install GTASA then MTA. (Make sure you got US/UK V1.0 " gta_sa.exe ") 3> Update your graphic card drivers and DirectX. 4> Check that your single player works. 5> Then Try MTA. Post back the out come. bloodeye
what a Trainer? maybe thats the problem, also make sure single player works first. got any mods installed gtaT perhaps lol, well delete it Link to comment
zerb
The trainer could be the problem so remove it, dont add any more modifications to your single player if you are wanting to play MTASA. Link to comment
TooCrooked
having the exact same problem. i thought initially that it was due to having installed that offline 2 player mod thing, so i uninstalled. after 3 times of uninstalling both, same problem. the process begins (the splash screen), i see that the process runs for a split second, but it seems like something intentially stops the process from continuing. i never get errors or anything. the process just dies. singleplayer works just fine. whats the solution? gtaman
Good Ideas and thanks for replying. But I'm no too sure about uninstalling GTA:SA. I've been playing for months and close to the end. I created back ups and not too sure if they'll go away if I uninstall. Plus about the trainor, I don't know if thats the problem. I saved my games while I used it. I cant update my video card cause my laptop cant hold anything higher than the 32 I have in. I'm currently downloading the DirectX update and hope thats the solution... I hope there are other solutions for mine and other peoples problems here. (my first player is fine. I have vol 1 and no mods attached, just the trainor which i uninstalled.) Well heres to hoping for alternative solutions! Link to comment

TooCrooked
wheres the dev guys providing help? this is the blind leading the blind, and its clearly not working. i have the most updated drivers and like i said, i tried everything. the wiki doesnt help shit! " * Q: San Andreas does not start after the MTA:SA splash screen ("stop playing with yourself") finishes loading. A: Try holding down your control key as you start MTA. It should prompt you for where GTA is installed. Make sure you select the correct folder and see if that helps. " nope. can i get a dev to please state "weve seen this, and in x cases we did this" or "working as intended" or something? Link to comment

gtaman
My single player does work and loads fine. It could be the wndows system 32. I have Windows XP. I've been searching everywhere! MTA needs the same requirements to play San Andreas, doesn't it. I really want to get it working and play online like everyone else. Maybe write this problem to the MTA website... Its getting annoying... Link to comment
gtaman
I'm not a whiz when it comes to complex computer stuff. like Methius stated. How do you switch compatability mode? Is it in My Computer Properties? Also, do you think Spyware/Ad-Ware could possibily play a part in this from happening? (It happened once but I have a remover and am not too sure on it.) I hope a Dev can either clear this mess up or help fix it.... Link to comment
Brophy
dont double post, just edit your first post, also dont mess with Compatability Mode Link to comment

gtaman
Oh wait. About deleting the gta_sa set file. I misunderstood what you ment! Once I delete the file and reinstall MTA, then see if GTASA loads. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'll reply back with my results. If this doesn't work then I guess GTA online will be outta my reach. ( Or maybe my computer is just retarted... ) Link to comment
gtaman
Ah well. Its probably something wrong thats out of my reach. I hope it can be fixed with a patch or a missing file. Looks like I'll have to wait until a new version is available or just stop trying. I've done everything people have told me to and still nothing. Thanks to everyone for their assistance and have fun.
