Me too. Now all we have to do is wait for ps2 + 1 year to get it on PC! :/

Also of interest was:

two new titles for the PSP handheld system, including an all-new Grand Theft Auto

and:

and a sequel of a Rockstar brand
Manhunt 2 perhaps?

Maybe if it comes on pc. It woulden't be that hard to make mta work for LCS (when it's on pc). It's the same engine. But like everything, time will tell.

I wonder if they will release it for PC at all, considering the huge disparity in LCS' graphics and the new games that will be out by then. I heard it has worse graphics than GTAIII, and that was released for PC almost three years ago..

It would have far higher resolutions, anti-aliasing etc on PC. Unlike on the PSP, so it would be superior graphically (as all the other GTA's are on PC). So I don't see that being an issue.

Wow, nice. So much for a PSP exclusive as they originally claimed :roll: But this is easy for them to do because both the PS2 and PSP are made by Sony. It remains to be seen if their contract will allow Xbox and PC releases. Hopefully.

It is an issue because it wouldn't look nearly as good as other PC games that will be out in mid/late 2006. Even San Andreas was pretty far behind other games when it was released for PC (graphically). Sure you can run it at higher resolutions with AA and they'll probably put in some high-res textures, but it would still end up looking like GTAIII, a 3 year old game. The only way I see it coming out for PC is if they add some SA-like effects (dynamic reflections, lighting, etc).

Only the more graphically obsessed will worry about the eye candy. If you don't appreciate the pure playability of all the GTA's then perhaps the latest Myst would be more suitable for you? :P

Can you quote where I said I am graphically obsessed or don't wouldn't appreciate playing LCS? I am really hyped about the it coming out on PS2 (if you read the second post you'd see just how excited I am) and I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE for them to put it on PC, even in it's current state. But it doesn't seem feasible to me, in purely a business sense, for them to port it to the PC without some major graphical improvements.

And I think I'll stick with GTA thank you. :wink:

GTA has never been about the graphics. You can not compare SA on PC to let's say NFS:U when it comes down to graphics. It's the total experience that counts.

Of course but would you really expect them to release a game that looks like/worse than GTAIII, almost four years after it was released? I don't, not without some fairly major changes..

they will obviously update the gfx, it's a psp game ffs, which means that they just HAVE to upgrade the gfx to make it look decent on ps2

before anyone starts bitching because it looks great on the psp, it's cause the screen is loads smaler than a tv

R* Shouldnt always port/develop their GTA versions for ps2 first.

In my opinion the ps2 is outdated and it isnt the biggest market anymore. So why do they keep focusing on it?

Anyway, Im sure the graphics will be as all the gta games we've seen on the pc so far, I trust R* to do that.

I hope they dont include multiplayer if it comes to the pc cause having a team with a community like this is way better. Im pretty sure they wont include things like an SDK so if MTA ( in the future cause we have still 3 games to go with Blue ) will make a version for LCS then we most likely have more options to do with the game. Because the team listens more to the community for suggestions. :P Well great to hear anyway I hope it'll be on pc.

They developed GTA3, VC and SA on PC's so hopefully the same goes for LCS, if this is the case then hopefully the original models should be reasonably high-poly and would have been reduced when ported to the psp.

As for multiplayer I doubt it, they've not added anything as radical as that in previous ports back to PC (in fact they've removed things like the two player missions :/ ) And Rockstar Norths CEO has been quoted stating multilayer wouldnt be considered until such time as the entire game could be designed around it, which lss clearly isn't. Fingers crossed for GTA4 however, it reportedly features an entirely new game engine so perhaps it's the holy grail itself and will be built for multiplayer.

They haven't yet made a decision about what system the next series of GTA's should be exclusive to, but it sure won't be the PS2, it will probably be one of the next gen consoles.

They keep focussing on the PS2 because it still IS a huge (I would guess the biggest) market.

Good to hear R* will make a new serie. I thought they stopped developing. Will it be something really new without all the characters out of this serie? I hope :) Im getting bored of that blockhead tommy vercetti and the muscle addicted cj :P

Maybe the new character will be Zero (the "leet" gamer). I can imagine the mission called "Get back Berkley with computer virus".
