Guest Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Hi! Can you tell me which tool are you using for recording movies in GTA:SA? I mean the movies on the main page (Racing modus). Hopefully not Fraps and the Game was set to 640x480. Sorry for my bad english! I´m from Germany.
orappa Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 (edited) www.fraps.com Who said they used Fraps? Edited August 19, 2005 by Guest
Leviathan Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Hopefully not Fraps and the Game was set to 640x480. Fraps is used a lot. why not? and ofcourse the game has been set to 640x480, it reduces the file size so even people with slow internet can view it...
Guest Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 www.fraps.com Who said they used Fraps? Exactly! I want to know what their used and not what you use for your videos. You can resize the video after you record it, too.
njr1489 Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 www.fraps.com Who said they used Fraps? What else would they use? Gamecam maybe.
Toreno Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 gamecam might not work with MTASA, because of the separate launcher.
orappa Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 They probably did... I'm just saying that you don't know for certain.
Leviathan Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 samurai and some other persons have helped with the movie. and didn't they use fraps as standard recorder? so it has to be fraps.
Gamefreek Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Fraps is the most used program for recording, yet if you have a low end pc use gamecam.
Bloodymess13 Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 we used Fraps to record and Samurai_Ohk used Sony Vegas and Virtual Dub for all the post recording stuff.
Guest Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Thank you! But I didn´t like Fraps. The output file size is very big. Which codec you use to reduce it? Divx?
orappa Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 (edited) WMV compression I'd presume, as it was a WMV file. Edited August 19, 2005 by Guest
Oli Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Hopefully not Fraps and the Game was set to 640x480. Fraps is used a lot. why not? and ofcourse the game has been set to 640x480, it reduces the file size so even people with slow internet can view it... actually i recorded it in 1280x1024, and yes i used fraps v2.5.1
Leviathan Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 and did you record it as half the size or something? I have 1280x1024 too and it was half of it I thought, hmm I'll check the movie agian. And the output files are uncomprimized files it's normal they are so big, all the files you watch are already comprimized so nothing strange about the huge file. I have free disk space enoegh so I haven't got problems. I got 320 gigabyte left.
Samurai_Ohk Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Yup, the latest fraps to record i assume, and then i convert those avi files (with sound) to 3vix so they can be applied to Vegas. I edit and put a custom rendering setting of my own with WMV For LQ version, i usually render with AVI and let Vdub work its magic
Leviathan Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 A friend gave me allso Vdub and Fraps and somethimes I make some stunt movies with it.
Jani Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I capture with Fraps 2.5.1, edit with Adobie Premier Pro and compress with the Divx codec.
Guest Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 I had a new Question: In Fraps you can change in the "movie" dialog between half-size and full-size. What you are using while record? And had you record it with 25fps?
