  2. First off, we're not competing. And even if we were, why would it be compared to MTA Blue? This is our first release for Vice City, so shouldn't it therefore be compared to MTA:VC 0.1? Well given that that was 2 years ago and VC-MP is built off knowledge from someone who knows how that was built and worked on a later version.. no i dont think it should be. Personally i dont think it should be compared.. period.. but u ppl love ure comparisons so i guess it will be Im happy vc-mp is doing well though, for a 1st release its nice, and even there are loads of problems with it, it is fun, playable and shows a great deal of promise . I look forward to vc-mp v1.0

And oli will that code do the trick and if u need to like slap kill should the code be modified like this ??: if ($3 == !slap) { var %a = 1 while (%a < 6) { mta.slap $1 $4 mta.slap $1 $4 mta.slap $1 $4 mta.slap $1 $4 mta.slap $1 $4 } } And is there a way to hide the pink annoyning message u see that someone gets slapped by admin and stuff. That code will slap them 20 times

  8. I think the hardtest part of C++ (or java) is getting ure head round objects. Once ure used to the syntax and u have objects set in ure head right it really takes off

    U're joking right ? There's nothing easier than flying a HYDRA...imho flying a heli is harder(if you do MY kind of flying)...i'd like to see someone flying under a bridge upside down Then,the target lock is kinda unfair ,if you manage to target the poor bastard on the ground there's nothing he can do,the hydra can launch those flares or whatever they're called.It's MUCH more fun to just 'predict' where the missiles will hit ( you only have a few secs to do that:) ) I just wish the dogfight thing is gonna happen,i can't wait to kick some a$$,FASTER IS BETTER P.S. I manage with a keyboard,imagine what someone would do with a joystick of gamepad Its not easy with the keyboard, unless you changed the controls. I can do it on a PS2 controller though. i find it well easy on the keyboard. perhaps u just need more practice
  10. just to correct ChrML here.. the current MAX the server will allow is 32.. im simply setting it to 16 in the config cos i felt like it. This doesnt mean its gonna be 16 or 32 or whatever.. we havnt decided yet.. we will prob decide once we have tested with lots of ppl on

  12. The race system is by no means complete yet.. so we can definately use these suggestions to help us make it as flexible and fun as possible. Ill be working on the .race file system probably tomorrow or sunday, so i will post on the blog when i have some more info
  13. right now everyone in a server is in the same car. Not sure if this will change or not. The respawning code isnt done yet (its on my to do after the admin ) so im not sure how itll work

  15. It hasn't been explained properly before or I wouldn't have this question I don't mean for this to start that flame crap backup... I am still not clear on what it is... If you don't have an answer just say that.... don't be cryptic and say it's been explained before You say no foot sync... so.. does that mean that we will be desynced find a car and then find our way to the start of the race? or We spawn with the car and we cannot get out of cars? If it's just car sync and we have to wait for everyone to find a car and get to the start of the race I guess we won't know if someone is going for the same car until it takes off. will ppl be able to jack other ppl? told you I have a million questions OK atm you spawn in the car specified in the server config file, which is what u race in. If you explode ull respawn. We will probably lock u in ure cars too, seeing as soon as u leave a vehicle u desync.. until u get back in it. No u cant jack ppl yet.. in DM u will im sure but we arnt that far along yet njr1489: no comment.. i dont get what ure after (apart from a fully working MTA:SA which has this and that and something else etc etc etc blah blah blah)
  16. I've not played GTAT so i wouldn't know. The 1st "Race mod" will be just vehicles.. this has been explained before.

VC-MP uses SCM hooking to create vehicles/spawn players etc etc. This is done using C++ in their engine, so the packets from the server can easily determine where the SCM hook spawns these things. In MTA 0.1-0.5 thevehicles and spawn points are actually done in an SCM. This is not as easily changed locally, and hence is hard to do with a packet from the server. Basically, this is something that isn't supported by these versions of MTA due to their inferior core. This is, however, extremely easy using BLUE
