It would yes, we already have the planes and thier weapons working as seen in the mta:sa video, leaving the map open is easy enough. No loading screens to worry about in San Andreas
-
Your pedantic post aside, he said player names should be displayed for identification, from AI of all things. He clearly hasn't even played MTA yet.

Because this is the comments area for mtavc.com news posts. http://www.mtavc.com has the links.

Following Tuesday's update, the Multi Theft Auto Team has put together a short video showcasing the early stages of vehicle synchronization. It was captured while testing the race mod that is currently under construction. The video features a variety of vehicles and locations with a varying number of testers. Video Link A big thanks to Samurai_Ohk for his assistance with final editing. Please note that Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas is still at a very early stage in development. This video should not be viewed as a game content preview, but as a demonstration for our community of the potential of the technology we have developed. As always, all content is subject to change at any stage in development.

Without aiming, i.e. Crosshair with rightclick, there is no vertical aim at all. All shots go at head or shoulder height (depending on the weapon) and in the direction the actor is facing, not the direction the camera is facing. The aim systems differences arent just skin deep, and would require a total rewrite to change them. Not to mention the ancillery things effected such as the RPG elements: range, aim and movement when aiming and firing.

Point Blank: I'm pretty sure it will be at some point, but just as VC took priority over GTA3 upon it's release. SA takes immediate priority over VC. And just like that example, I'm sure we will return to VC as we did GTA3

Sorry but I'm fnding it difficult to translate what you said above.

MTASA is an example of 'MTA after 0.5.5'. http://www.mtasa.com for information if youve missed it on the forum.
-
And player names have been displayed since MTA:VC 0.2
-
You mean like every other version of MTA? Of course, the first releases will be betas as stated on mtasa.com

He said through a network to an internet server.

Theres no multiplayer code inside normal VC. Unless you count a background image or two.

MTA funtioning with other online mods
Si|ent replied to =BDC=Kenny's topic in General Blue discussion
That depends on how the other modifactions 'mess around' with your install, something we can't possibly know. MTA should be seamless as always and won't permenantly alter any of your single player files. Other modifications may not be as friendly however. -
Lots more will be synchronised, many things already are that weren't possible in the old core. I can't promise you traffic lights however as I'd disagree that they are essential.

We need to think about an SA version of our name. We got Vice City Army for VC, Vested Columbian Assasins for GTA3. How about Very Crap Automobiles for SA? we can only use the less obviously sporty vehicles. Like my baby on the left: http://www.mtasw.co.uk/gallery23.jpg

Having just aquired a rifle for the first time, during a simply superb mission where you have to steal some farm equipment, (don't want to be a spoiler ). I am even more appreciative of the superb new aiming system. I really can't understand peoples issue with it. Each to his own though I guess.

MTA:SA is my priority yes, but the mtasw team consits of many people not just myself, so work continues. And nope we wont be moving to SA, we have plenty of space in VC and the techniques, methods and tools all exist for what we wish to do, they don't for SA as yet. We also hope it will shake some life back into VC after R*s phenominal release of SA. Many people still dont have SA, and those that do are probably, like me, still busy discovering all the detail it has to offer 'off the shelf'

I think he's asking HOW the client knows this though jonchappel. And yes. Pretty much any single player game could be made multiplayer. Wether it would be advisable or fun is another matter. Edit: X-com was an awesome series of games. Apocolypse was my favourite

One of the problems with MTA:VC 0.5.5 seems to be pretty ingrained in the old core, fixing it is proving much more easily said than done. Meanwhile we test the vastly superior new core which blows the old core away, and it all gets rather dissillusioning. We'd all like to round the old core off with a solid release, wether we'll manage it before New core rolls out or not remains to be seen.

Since San Andreas′s release in North America a week ago, we′ve worked hard to build Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas on the Blue platform. Two nights ago saw a breakthrough for multiplayer GTA gaming: the first synchronisation in San Andreas. After an initial problem that took some fixing, progress has been swift. With object creation in the early stages, in this case a 3D marker: image Followed by player creation and manipulation: image With vehicle creation and basic synchronisation following shortly afterwards: images As always this and more information can be found at http://www.mtasa.com Where another exclusive screenshot can also be found.
