That just sounds like a suggestion to help you steal people's work more easily, and I don't think it's ever going to happen. Why not just make your own script from scratch, which includes server and client side?

Make sure all the textures in the TXD have correct file names, normal textures compressed with DXT1 and alpha textures compressed with DXT3. Images need to have dimensions of power of two, eg 64x64, 512x128, 256x256 etc. If you upload the TXD, someone might have time to go through and see where you've mucked up.

    Modeling

I want unicorn. The only way to model for MTA is to create clay moulds by hand, and scan them in with expensive laser scanners.

How did you get this script? Strange that you only have a compiled version...
  5. As I said the last time this came up, it's never a good idea to throw accusations around unless there's solid and irrefutable proof of who is responsible. There is no proof at all linking some sort of SA-MP conspiracy to any of these attacks. Until there is, it's best to leave them out of it.

    Fire question.

You could try spawning object ID 3461 (a burning stick) and position it such that the stick part is underground, while the fire protrudes into your fireplace.
  7. I seem to recall that our mtaserver.conf had to be orderered in such a way that resources which depended on others to run properly were initiated after those required resources had been initiated. So handler resources should be loaded up before their dependencies. But I could be wrong on that, and indeed that may not even be the problem you're encountering, if you don't have resources with dependencies.
  8. He might be asking if 'there is a way to map with someone together', I guess that sort of makes sense given the thread subject. But indeed, a more detailed post would make all the difference...

My approach would be if you don't have permission to edit or redistribute something, don't edit or redistribute it. I don't think an uncompiled script should be seen as an invitation for anyone to come in and do whatever they like to it. I'm not sure if your edit will satisfy the natives, Axel. In future you should get permission from the original author before you fiddle with and redistribute their work.

What he's saying is, you've taken someone else's work (presumably without permission) and added a few bits and pieces to it, then re-released it without crediting the original author of the work you used. So to anyone coming along and looking at 'your' resource, they will assume you created it from scratch, but in actual fact you just took an existing resource from someone else and edited it. That's unfair to the creator of the original resource, and pretty dishonest.
  11. I truly am glad to see I'm not the only one who is completely against the theft of people's hard work, props for your dedication Towncivilian, and to the folks who are identifying stolen work for removal.

    Skin Replace

Just extract the image from the TXD and edit the picture with any image editor - even MS Paint will do. You don't need any particular skills in photoshop or anything in order to edit an image. Just make sure that you don't change the texture arrangement too much - if the face part is in the top left, it needs to stay there. If the leg part is centre bottom, it needs to stay centre bottom. But you can change the colours/detailing without any problems. You can find your ped details in /data/peds.ide. Texture name from that is: Use ImgTool to open gta3.img, find 'bmyboun.txd', extract it from the archive. Use TXDWorkshop to open the TXD and extract the image. Edit image as you wish, re-insert back into TXD using TXDWorkshop again. Done. Easy as pie
  13. You kids are ruining Famas' thread, he clearly put a lot of time and effort into his tutorial and I complimented him on that. I didn't bring up anything to do with DKR or your theft of our content Cannonball, nor did I bring up your repeated attempted thefts CapY. I didn't even bring up Famas' theft of my work, I was staying strictly on-topic. Indeed I am not fond of either of you because I believe people's work should be respected, not stolen/copied. I simply asked if the resource had ever been completed, and lol'd at your 'copyright' message. Neither of which required or warranted a response from either of you. I mainly wanted to compliment Famas on taking time to create something original and meaningful, that should be encouraged. Please don't respond to this, leave Famas' thread to be used by people who are struggling with the supplied documentation, or for people to voice their appreciation for him taking the time to explain the installation process.

    Unified Textures

Streaming in/out basically just means whether the object exists for the player or not - whether the player is within stream distance of the object. Stream distance (usually 300m radius or less) is the distance at which a spawned object becomes visible to the player, or in the case of native map objects with LODs (low-poly version you see from far away), it is the distance at which the LOD disappears and the DFF appears.

I don't know what LST&RR is - are these custom models that you're looking for, or original GTA SA ones? The thread title makes it sound like you're hunting down files from Valhalla or something.

    Object.

ID 16335, 'des_transtower'. It includes the small building at the base. With MEd, you can just load up the section of map where the object is (if you know where it is), and get the information that way. Better approach than trying to use the 'Find' function and making guesses on what it might be called.
  17. There's a thread specifically for reporting community resources here - that's probably your best bet.
  18. You can't replace a client's gta3.img or their IDE/IPL files. What you are suggesting would require you to have all model files downloaded by the client, and Lua scripts to replace existing map objects with your Liberty City ones. Indeed, hundreds of MB's as Ecoxp noted. Additionally, as Kayl and I (and a handful of others) have discovered, it is simply not possible to replace that many objects in MTA without experiencing problems such as missing textures. I suspect either a stream memory fix and/or improved object replacement support would be necessary to be able to replace enough objects to create a new city like Liberty City or Vice City.
  19. That's quite an extensive walkthrough Famas, well done. What's with the new name, though? Cannonball's copyright is a bit misleading, apparently it isn't supposed to be shared under any circumstances and yet it's up on the community site for everyone to download and spread as they like. Oh well. Did he ever get around to finishing it? I remember he made a thread about it and seemed to be releasing updates or something, and then he disappeared off the face of the planet.

    Mapping Placement

That's not really MTA's responsibility, they provide the platform for the rest of us to develop content on. If what you're looking for isn't on the Community Site then you may need to learn how to do it yourself, or pay someone to do it.
  21. ...which is illegal, and probably best not discussed here. Presumably CapY you were referring to the same thing (online theft) which I guess doesn't surprise me. I gave you two free and legal alternatives, that's definitely the best way to go if you have no intention of actually buying any software.
  22. Sony Vegas Pro well and truly falls into the category of expensive. Jaysds1 hasn't yet indicated whether he's in the market for such an expensive program, I didn't want to encourage any thoughts of piracy by suggesting software that he may not be able to afford. So er, good one...
  23. Most of the good software suites can be rather expensive, and they are a bit of a leap up from free editors in terms of complexity. If you attend a recognised university or something you may be able to get a discounted Academic Version of one such package, although I think in some cases even attending a High School is sufficient. But if you're new to video editing and not in the market for a $300+ piece of software, I'd suggest sticking to the free ones for now, such as Wax 2.0 (or indeed remaining with Windows Movie Maker).

    Spike Strips

ID 2892 'temp_stinger' is the one the police use in Single Player. Looks like there's also 1593 'plc_stinger', although temp_stinger looks better.
  25. Yep as far as I know, dynamic and destructible objects use a GTA object parameter (flag) that can't be changed in MTA. Can't you just use a different object, or even make a new model that looks like the object you want to use, and then use that for object replacement on a non-destructible object?
