That's up to the server admin to decide, not you - if the admins of a server want to disallow handling, you either need to cope with that or find another server to play on. Also, this isn't really the place to complain about individual servers, as this forum is for MTA in general, and not servers for it.

You shouldn't turn off antivirus programs. Firewalls are another matter entirely, although you shouldn't really disable them completely, either. Open the appropriate ports instead.

Which resources to run depends on the server and its configuration, not you. As a normal player, you kind of have to stick to what you get.

Again: if updating your server once every few weeks is "really annoying", that's your problem, and nobody is forcing you to do it. It really isn't that big a deal, it's a matter of minutes.

The resource name in the ACL might be case sensitive. Make sure all the letters in the resource name are capitalized correctly.

I've heard from a few people that MTA doesn't work with Win7. That could be a problem for me, since I was planning to install 7 soon. Can anybody confirm this? If it really is a problem, is there a way to make it work?
