  1. Personally it would be nice if ALL downloads, including the SA ones, were in the same directory as all the others to some degree... As for downloads, you could do that if it were renamed to "Archive" since otherwise it conflicts with the download link on the main page. Also, it should be http://files.multitheftauto.com/ and not http://www.files.multitheftauto.com/ since the "www." part is redundant. I don't know why that was added in the first place... Fixed!
  2. Well I would suggest a mirror system that actually picks a random mirror as the download location, then the link on the main page and the one here would randomly alternate. This would also prevent downtime caused by the download-hosting site if something should go wrong. From the downloader's point of view, all they would see is a standard link to the download from one of the random sites, a.k.a. the output of the code, which changes each time the page refreshes. The only issue would be that releases would have to be updated on the mirrors as they are released, but then again the team could just update them a day prior to actual release and not change the mirror links to the new filename until all of them are ready.
  3. 1. You are correct. That was leftover from the original site theme awhile back. 2. Why not just rename it download and link to the current mirror?
  4. As easy way would be to do a stress test. If your server can handle that many without lag, go for it. Not just the server, also the clients connected to it. Sorry, should've clarified. I meant a stress test as in having alot of people test the theory together, not literally a stress test through application testing. My mistake on that one. Apologies.

    MTA for GTA IV

I'm a bit too lazy for that hahaha. I do know though that most modern cards can, but don't generally support those very low resolutions unless it's forced by the computer or a program. If you're playing in a window that small though, and you still have issues, something is wrong with your computer.

    MTA for GTA IV

I beg to differ on that edit hahaha... But yes, SA isn't very well optimized at all. You have to ALSO keep in mind that smaller resolutions don't always mean better. If you start getting too small, it can actually have a negative effect because your video card is struggling to process so much detail in such a small area and display it correctly. Generally from what I've noticed, it's not usually a good idea to go any lower than 1024x768, but again, that can vary depending on your setup. 800x600 or lower tends to not work well for me on most computers, just throwing that out there.
  7. I'd suggest linking the "English" link back here since it doesn't auto-translate what is said on the boards. All it's doing is linking to the arabic board while the software's language is in English, not the posts. Looks pretty nice though!

    MTA for GTA IV

Heh, sounds like GTA3:MTA/MTA:VC all over again...
  9. Well, basically a FAQ on the most common errors and how to fix them, how-to's in scripting, examples, how-to setup a server, configuration options, basic and advanced methods, etc. Basically a localized version of general support with links back to the main site/forum/wiki/etc. so that they have a little more information that they can reference to without the need of some kind of translator.
  10. That's why I'm saying why not make a support subdomain in each language with tutorials translated in their languages with links back to the main forum?
  11. Actually, having subdomains in different languages isn't a bad idea. The information could be localized to them specifically, with links back to important information on the English pages that users could just use Google Translate on if necessary. It wouldn't really be hard to do this. It'd just be a matter of setting up the DNS for each subdomain and hosting whatever files/pages are necessary.
  12. That's odd. I wonder why that mirror is considered malware now... Edit: I'll host a temporary mirror. Don't link people to it or use it as the primary though. It's self-hosted and I'm in the middle of switching internet companies, so it's a bit slow for the time being. http://www.projectredivivus.com/files/mta10/MTASA-1.0.4.exe
  13. Well you said you didn't have it, not that you didn't disable it
  14. That is true. Sorry if it sounded like I was saying that would work, because it wouldn't. I was just replying to the user that said he didn't "have" System Restore lol
  15. If you have XP or above, which I'm assuming you do, you have System Restore.
  16. I haven't gotten them to show up on any of my comps with the latest Avast and all settings on high, and other users have reported similar events. Not sure what to say there.
  17. Not necessarily. It will use the marked space at any time it decides to. The HDD doesn't need to be full for it to do it.
  18. So far 0.5 seems to be cleared from this issue though. I wonder why MTA: SA is suddenly being flagged. Start putting in your reports!
  19. http://www.mtaiv.com/ has no directory index file. I know you guys keep changing the site for ****s and giggles, among other things, but atleast a blank index file or simple redirect would be nice to make it HTML compliant.
  20. MTA:SA is flagged as a virus now? That's odd, I never saw that before. I know that MTA 0.x is finally cleared of the issue as modern A/V's no longer flag it. I wonder why he's getting this problem so suddenly.
  21. As easy way would be to do a stress test. If your server can handle that many without lag, go for it.
  22. 4 days? You can do it! Tell me what I can do to help!
