Set the correct VC version under the Options tab in MTA.

In Windows 7, try adding MTAClient.exe and MTABrowser.exe, as well as your GTA executables, to the Windows Data Execution Prevention exceptions list in addition to running MTAClient.exe as an Administrator, as Towncivilian said. For Windows XP, you shouldn't need to do either of these methods unless DEP is enabled in XP, which I doubt your parents did since it's disabled by default.

Besides the tons of former ASE query code and the mess that is MTA 0.x, both versions of MTA in one way or another use Game-Monitor for listing servers in their server browsers.

Hell, it even works in MTA 0.x... Would also love to know what this so-called bug is.

One day when a better version can be completed for GTA III and VC, maybe this idea can be revisited.

If you are looking for a roleplaying server, Argonath RPG and Ankeborg RPG are both still up. Argonath RPG is listed in the browser, however Ankeborg RPG requires you to get the IP from their website and enter it manually since their method of connection is not compatible with Game-Monitor's querying system.

A new version might fix these bugs you claim to exist, but have yet to report

Well hey, I know I'm never giving up on this. I would try to rally the team again, as I usually do, but I'm kinda stuck in a position ATM where I'm barely able to be online. Once that is fixed, I'll do what I can to get this mod alive and well again
