I have some random test servers up for GTA3:MTA if you want to play with people when they are online, and Liberty-Unleashed is another mod for GTA III multiplayer as well that you could use. Both of them have players at random times

Scripting Board Description Change

Well it's not like you'd get a lot of requests for support either, but it would still make sense to support them since they are there, and MTA offered it at one point. I see your issue though. I'm not so much saying going all out and saying "hey, use mIRC". I just mean if they show up, let them have a place for their questions -
GTA Vice City, San Andreas both work ok Mac OSX. But still does anyone know if there is an MTA for Mac OSX? I could build MTA but not in C... don't know where to begin, i'm an realbasic developer.. To answer your question, even though this is a very old topic, it has become relevant to the current situations in MTA given that GTA III, VC, and SA have been released on the Mac OS X platform, and right now, the answer about MTA running on it too is a no. Unfortunately no one wants to develop it for that platform because of a lack of Developers all the way around, and it would require some extensive porting for all the MTA's, as well as figuring out all the memory addresses all over again, which is a similar reason why the Steam versions of GTA games aren't compatible with MTA either. Don't let this get you down though! It's still possible through emulation, and there's still hope that one day people can do this. I honestly would love to see every version of GTA supported in every version of MTA some day, but obviously it's just a dream right now.

Scripting Board Description Change

Regardless, they are all still supported and it seems highly unfair to be separating the community like that...especially in a category of the forum that is meant for all versions of MTA, not MTA:SA specifically. The mod's demise was because of a lack of support, not because ASE went down. That was just what started the problems to begin with. That doesn't mean they should continue. -
MTA:SA 1.1 Released: Harder, Better, Stronger, Faster
SugarD-x replied to darkdreamingdan's topic in News
Well from what I'm hearing, the initial 1.1 release has a lot of issues. If 1.0.x and 1.1.x are so different, I don't see why users should even be able to use the 1.1.x client with a 1.0.x server and vice versa. -

Poor 1.1 seems to be buggier than 0.5! What happened? On a happier note, Harder, Better, Faster, and Stronger you say, huh? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPq1_9DsLKk -
Scripting Board Description Change
SugarD-x posted a topic in Site/Forum/Discord/Mantis/Wiki related
Looking at the scripting board, it says "All Lua scripting topics related to Multi Theft Auto". Why not change this to remove the word "LUA" since it's a board that refers to all versions of Multi Theft Auto, or add "mIRC and" before the "LUA" part? 0.x doesn't use LUA [yet] and it seems a bit unfair to discriminate against it when many users still use it. I know many will say the mod is dead, but it should be pretty obvious by now that it's not true, and considering many of the SA 1.x boards converted existing III/VC 0.x boards over the years to reorganize the forum, it would only make sense to give them equal treatment instead of continuing to push them farther apart. On a side note, although not recommended because it isn't as powerful, mIRC still can be used with even the current version of MTA:SA, so I don't see why even those very few users out there can't be supported as well. -
Mirrored it on the PR Archive too. Thanks guys! http://files.projectredivivus.com/mta10/race/Public_Release_Script_1.3.zip

MTA:SA 1.1 Released: Harder, Better, Stronger, Faster
SugarD-x replied to darkdreamingdan's topic in News
Yay! Now we just need to get 0.5.1 out the door too! -
Not necessarily. It just means it could be a Release Candidate. This is the wrong topic to ask that in anyway.
-
If someone can provide a copy of this, I can host a mirror to it on the PR File Archive, and I'll speak with someone about getting it up on the MTA one for historical purposes.
-
Wait, what? Source code to what?
-
It was repackaged as a different executable with it's own legal "No-CD" thing built in that is tied to the Steam application itself, so all the memory addresses are different because it's a new, recompiled file.

If you have any mods installed, that will also trigger it. If you are running this on Windows Vista/7, right-click on MTAClient.exe and Run As Administrator.
-
Game-Monitor has had some issues lately and trust me, it can be quite annoying. Just be patient and leave it up for awhile and it should show, though!
-
Try reinstalling MTA. Something might have broke along the way.
-
You may wish to reinstall your MTA. That error actually surprises me, because IIRC, that is a Windows DLL. You may want to do a scan for malware on your system because if that is corrupt or missing, you may have problems. Make sure you run it an an Administrator first if on WinVista/7 though. This tends to fix many common or strange bugs that pop up at random in the client.
-
In the current version, just use the Deathmatch gamemode. The only difference between Freeroam and Deathmatch with MTA 0.5r2 is Deathmatch has weapons spawned in random locations which you can't remove or control at this time. Other than that, it would be identical to a Freeroam map.

No problem!

Hahaha, I remember you guys. I was in [TSP], which later became [LA]. (The Sky Pirates / Lance's Army). Good times. P.S. You're from Sacramento too What part? I'm in Arden-Arcade out by Marconi and Watt hahaha

Rockstar Games stated recently that they no longer consider it against their EULA to create your own as long as it doesn't promote piracy or modify the existing multiplayer.
-
Oh, okay. So you're just replacing the executables then. That's interesting...seems that may be the only difference then. Glad to hear that!
-
Makes sense. The reason why I ask is because I have executables for the Steam versions, but I can't run them with or without Steam because the copies of III and VC I own are not Steam ones, so it refuses to run them. I also noticed extra executables called "testapp.exe" for each game. If memory addresses in the executable are the only change that physically affects the game in MTA, this could lead to some interesting research...
