  1. Naw, that's just fanboys in high positions. SA:MP is a decent mod that Kye has done a great job on. It's a great competitor for MTA:SA. It's just unfortunate that people become biased and assume that one mod is better than the other, banning anyone who brings up the competition. As long as you don't break their forum's rules or talk **** about their mod, they have no reason to ban you. If someone does for bringing up MTA, consider them stupid fanboys like the others. Even Kye himself has said that he has no hate for the MTA team and vice versa, and I've discussed both mods on both forums several hundred times without anyone causing any problems aside from fanboys. My suggestion to you: Hate the fanboys, but don't become one of them. They are just dumb people who don't see the truth in their BS. Enjoy the mods and have fun. That's what it's all about.
  2. I mean automatically. MTA 0.2-0.5 or so used to use the All-Seeing Eye server browser service, which Yahoo! later bought and then shut down, effectively killing the built-in server browser in those versions of GTA3:MTA and MTA:VC, and earlier versions of MTA:SA. MTA 0.5r2 and newer versions of MTA:SA fixed this in alternate ways, however. MTA 0.5r2 introduced the External Server Browser which works with Game-Monitor for getting a list of MTA 0.x servers, but they must be manually added to Game-Monitor's site by those who wish to list their servers before they will show up in this External Server Browser. As for MTA:SA, they used some nice little code to convert the old ASE protocol to point towards Game-Monitor's website to use a module it currently shares with MTA 0.x over there to list it's own servers, but MTA:SA has also fixed it's auto-query system, so MTA:SA servers are automatically listed in their server browser when they are created, unlike MTA 0.x right now.
  3. I know what you mean. It's a shame we can't just buy out the domain and send all the game queries to Game-Monitor so the old ASE stuff works again
  4. Issue is self-explanatory. It is caused by not having the correct version executable for the game. The user has been instructed to upgrade to the GTA III 1.1 executable.
  5. Attention users, A new, potentially annoying bug has been identified in MTA 0.5r2. If you have your game set to high resolutions and it crashes, try deleting your settings file. If this solves the crash, but changing back to high resolutions crashes upon game loading again, then you have the resolution bug. The cause: MTA 0.5r2, in order to prevent desync, forces the frame limiter on in the game's memory. Unfortunately, this does not affect GTA:VC's GUI menus, so the menu setting, (if the frame limiter is disabled prior to running MTA the first time with GTA), overrides the memory which has already been pre-set upon game load, causing conflicting memory issues and the game crashes while loading because it does not understand which setting should be the correct one. The fix: Make sure your frame limiter is turned on the first time you run MTA with GTA. This not only prevents desync issues in the game, but it also prevents this bug from happening. If you attempt to disable the frame limiter in-game, it will not crash you, but the memory setting will continue to override this setting so you cannot desync yourself from others. We don't want cheaters ruining gameplay for others, so don't try to bypass this because it won't work. Have fun boys and girls, and we will make an attempt in one of the future updates to fix this bug. Happy gaming!

Then yes, a master server ban could be issued on them so they cannot retrieve a list of servers, but that's about it.

Do you mean like a server ban, or a ban from the MP mod itself?

    The Sky Is...

It's only meant to be for a hint. Just threw it together on purpose.
  9. Got one better for you http://files.mtasa.com/web/mtablue.info/
  10. I know, right? What a concept! It must be lies, just like cake!
  11. It should, but it's not. After 3 days compiling and trying all possible options I can imagine, I'll give up and wait if its fixed in future versions. Did these steps ~20 times with different compile options in 2 different linux systems: https://wiki.multitheftauto.com/wiki/Bui ... _GNU_Linux always same results: network module not compatible! "This could mean that your MTA:SA install is incomplete or broken. Reinstall it." Not getting anywhere no matter how many times I reinstall it. Tried every net.so from every version I could find, still no luck. Window$ versions works just fine without problems, but Windows itself does not. Does it say if there's a specific version netcode .dll available for your version? I haven't visited that part of the site in a long time, so I can't remember for sure, but I believe at one point it would say which one was correct. What's wrong with your Windows?
  12. At this point, that wouldn't be a port, but a rewrite. The engine IV uses is vastly different from the one III, VC, and SA uses.
  13. Heya guys. Who out there is interested in seeing MTA:SA's Blue Core ported to GTA3:MTA and MTA:VC?!? Anyone?!? Who out there is interested in helping, and has capable C++ skills?!? Anyone?!? If you can answer yes to these questions, we want you! Currently a team within MTA, as some of you may know from other 0.x-based releases, is working on Blue for GTA III and Vice City using MTA code, however we are running into a small situation. The problem is that although we have capable developers, our time is split into working on other MTA projects, as well as upcoming 0.x releases, and our own lives. That is why I'm posting this topic here today. I'm trying to find someone who is knowledgeable and interested in the community that is willing to give this a shot. Experience in C++ is a must, but with this project going open source as MTA:SA is, the source will eventually be made public upon basic completion so others can join in...but this cannot happen until that basic structure of the code has been made. Some say this is a near-impossible task, but in all honesty it's not anywhere near as hard as it seems. MTA:SA has done most of the work for us by creating the Blue core to begin with, and there are other references of documentation available for the game porting itself. The old version of MTA:VC Blue also still exists, which can be referenced from as needed, as well. We just need more people working on this thing to make it happen! Interested? Let me know! Post replies, PM's, emails, and MSN messages are all welcome! Help us make this a reality once and for all!
  14. Agreed. It looks very nice! Can't wait to check it out! I would like to make a suggestion of adding a column for the GTA game also. SA is the only one right now that supports many of the things uploaded onto the Community, but that could change in the future. Seeing how MTA covers all of it's own mods, it might be a good idea so things don't have to be redone later.

Remember to always compile your scripts too!
  16. GTA:VC is affected by the other two too. None of the three can be played at the same time or they stall loading.
  17. It's alright. Just want to keep you out of trouble.
  18. 1. StarCraft 2 is not free. It's multiplayer is. 2. Custom made maps still exist. They are called "UMS" or "Use Map Settings" games. 3. You can make custom maps with the Map Editor. 4. Everything you have described works in StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood War too. 5. Piracy is not allowed in this community.
  19. StarCraft 2 already offers free multiplayer so long as you legally own the game. Piracy won't be discussed here, so please don't talk about it.

    MTA PROBLEMS HELP!

I just answered your question. Until you legally obtain GTA:SA, no one can, nor will, help you.

    MTA PROBLEMS HELP!

So then you cannot play MTA:SA, pure and simple. Obtain a legal copy of the game. It will cost you money regardless.

    MTA PROBLEMS HELP!

Okay, after you install those, go buy GTA:SA. Once you have it purchased, install it onto your computer. Then reinstall MTA:SA.
