Hey, not sure where this should be so I posted here (mods feel free to move accordingly ) So I really wanted to get into machinima with MTA and thought it might be nice to create a kind of tools package (nice zip file) to get started with this, and maybe help others get into it. It would contain helpful scripts that could help with filming and such, as well as any good free recording/editing software that can be found. I am a newb when it comes to this stuff so i turn to the community for help For starters, anyone know any good free video recording and editing software? I have the demo version of fraps and it's not too good . As for video editors I'm completely clueless. Also, any suggestions for useful scripts that could help with filming is appreciated, I'll name a few and get a list started. Ideas and requests are both good and if you suggest a script that already exists, please post where it can be found. Any tips are also welcome ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Filming Package: Zip File (to come) Scripts: Freeroam:Change weather, character skin, weapons, vehicle, and plenty more on the fly. Offedit:Create, Save, Load maps on the fly without having to leave the game and use an external editor (there are others but this is my preferred editor) Glue: Stand on any vehicle without falling off Admin: Change many stats, give weapons or money to players, and plenty more. Recording Software: -Xfire -Wegame Editors: -Windows Movie Maker ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tips: -Using 0 Alpha to make yourself invisible makes you a good cameraman on foot as well as in vehicles. -***You can get rid of the hub and radar with console commands (need to find commands***) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Requests: -CJ clothes customizing script that can save load multiple configs. -Being able to make CJ different colors and changing just his face (is it possible?) -Flying camera scrip (move around freely like in map editor) -Character Animations (smoking, dancing, talking, etc...)

Make sure you leave the skc switcher open when you run MTA. Ensure also that the switcher has the correct directories for race and DM. Check and check! So if I'm doing all that right, what else could be wrong?

I'm using the GUI switcher and am having a problem loading race, It says unable to open GTASA. I do have 2 installations of the game as well as a separate installation for Race and DM, so what could be wrong? At least DM works fine

They are using the MTA Race editor and converting it for DM. The MTA DM editor still isn't out yet

No, there is nothing against donations/contributions for someones work as long as it's completely voluntary of course (although people usually reward people who donate)

So I beat GTA4 a few days ago and don't recall anyone similar to Jack Thompson, although there is a lawyer in the game, but he didn't act like a douch

sure there is, but it requires the console to be modded and many ppl are not willing to do that Not to mention my friend from school was banned from XBL because he modded his 360

I don't think it it ruins it but i do prefer playing it on mouse/keyboard if I can, although I'm gonna need to buy a new PC to get the PC version of GTA4. I can just imagine what kind of mods they are gonna make with the new GTA's engine Some games are just way better with a controller though, the thought of playing something like Devil May Cry on a keyboard is just disturbing.

http://lexluthorchoir.ytmnd.com/ but to be serious, they still wouldn't have the source code for GTA4 and would have to reverse-engineer it as much as they did with GTA3 (VC and SA used the same engine). At least I think that's how it was done in the past

There is a way to do it, but I'm not sure exactly how (but I if find the topic I'll post a link here). I think the reason they can't be installed together has to do with the registry on your machine iirc. I really hope that in the following releases they can be installed simultaneously because it would actually get the players that prefer race more to get on DM once in a while (instead of having to reinstall on the other version back and forth). From what I've seen in the server browsers I think Race is still more populated than DM atm
