  1. This post is almost a year old. Doubt anybody's offering MTA 0.5 servers anymore, and almost nobody (and probably nobody at all) is still playing MTA 0.5.
  2. I believe you posted in the wrong section (you're trying to host an MTASA DM server, right?). Post here instead.
  3. I really don't know what you're talking about. Which version of MTA are you using?
  4. Wrong forum, unless you're talking about SCM which I really doubt you are. Post in the correct forum.
  5. It'd be nice but I doubt it's going to happen. I've been lobbying for something to happen to 0.5 for 2 years now, even going to the extent of coding a large update to MTA:VC's SCM code.
  6. It's a false positive due to the way that MTAClient.exe interfaces with gta-vc.exe.
  7. In September there wasn't an archive page, that's why I had to make a mirror.

    MTA Dead?

I agree. I'd love to see MTA 0.5 updated as well, Sugar, and have been attempting to do so for around 1.5 years, and I pretty much just lurk here, waiting. Just chill out and wait.
  9. lmao! Anyways, I'm happy to see MTA gone open source. It makes me wanna take up coding again. I'm wondering though, if MTA 0.5 goes open source, does anyone here think that's enough to bring all the players back? Certainly not all the players. But with a new server browser and my scm improvements and some smallish client fixes I'm sure quite a number of people would at least try it, if for nothing more than nostalgia's sake. There's still a small group of active players on a couple servers last time I checked.
  10. It seems that the main.sc file from GTA4 is the same as the one in VC.
  11. Opening the main.sc file in notepad shows around 250 lines of code. I'm quite certain that is not the scm we know. And the script folder is empty *shrug*. Well, I was just guessing. After all, VC does have a main.sc file. It's certainly not SCM though, it seems to be some debug or test script. I was confused thinking that .sc was SCM since the file extensions are similar enough. I'm curious to see what format the scripting is in, however.
  12. Alright. But thanks for including your work should the source be released. And yeah, I would need to update the client to get anywhere at all since a server browser would be the first priority.
  13. Could you send me that stuff, please? Just PM a link or something. Thanks. It'd likely be helpful to me since I've already got an SCM update going.
  14. Looks like R* is still using the crappy SCM format for the main game script and mission scripts (main.sc file).
  15. I thought about that for a while, but I don't even know the underlying cause or how the blips work in SCM. I have also tried to fix the "drive the motorbike (unsynced) while being passenger" bug by disabling the controls when you're a passenger but that didn't work. It seems that it's a VC engine bug since VC-MP had the same problem. A fix implemented in the client would probably work though. Same with the motorcycle passenger crash when there's no driver; a client fix would most likely fix that as well. I was able to fix the latter in SCM but it broke sync in certain conditions. EDIT: Added Pay'n'Spray radar blips in DM (can't fit them in stunt due to lack of memory). I also made the spawn menu begin at the Robber spawn instead of swooping from the Lighthouse to the Robber spawn, so it loads slightly faster. I'm out of free memory in both SCMs. Can't do anything else.
  16. I can't really improve it anymore. If the client source is released and I had some C++ coders, then I would probably be able to make some slow progress with memory addresses and sync improvements. There's really nothing to do until or unless a 0.5 source is released. A stress test with 26 players might be useful, but that seems a bit much to ask for. Here's the final changelog, though.
  17. I'd be willing to work on 0.5 SCM-wise, but I would need some C++ people to handle the client. First thing I'd do (assuming I got someone to work on the client) is fix the server browser, add my VC SCM update, add Steam's version of VC/GTA3 support (somebody said this was a simple check of the game .exe version before I believe so that should be easy), and release that after further testing. Then we'd go from there. Of course, a VC module for Blue would be a significantly better option in the long run but until somebody decides to undertake that, then 0.5 seems to be our only short-term option.
  18. Somebody's gonna ask eventually, so I'll ask: what about MTA 0.5?
  19. Did you apply the server patch? Are you using your brother's computer's network IP or your internet IP? You must be using the network IP.
  20. Make sure that it's set to a GTA3 gamemode in the configuration .conf
