And did you download network modules from http://code.google.com/p/multitheftauto/downloads/list and install in proper locations?
Nightly is really for people who know what they are doing, if you want to just play, use dp2.3 for now.
My script doesn't synchronize a thing, it replicates all the actions the same on all clients and mta takes care of position sync. So there's nothing extremely hard to sync it.

I know... but since i'm not a computer expert and there are many more developments than only the bugs being fixed it would be nice to see a progress update from the developers...

thats what i really want but infortunately i dont know any =/, you could always use the Race editor and make a few maps then convert them for DM, or you could always wait for the DM editor which is what im doin
You dont have to convert anything. Race resource accepts mta race map syntax
I don't think somebody made it clear that we will not do MTA:IV. We sure could start it someday, more likely even open source from the very beginning. Blue core allows us to port it to other games, without rewriting tonns of code we got for the last years.
You should use search. This has been discussed lots of times, there is no water level, there are separate chunks of water all over the place not anyhow connected to each other.
