i don't believe banning is the way to deal with cheaters, because people with chancing ips can not be banned, also proxy can spoof ips. i think the best way to deal with cheaters is by running serverside scripts that test common cheating methods. like: driving to fast, not dying when being shot, etc. don't know how you would script that, but i believe that would be the best method.

i voted NO, because i'd like a stable VC client first.

well, i'm sure there is some maximum speed that someone can travel without mods. if anyone goes over that maximum, he's speedhacking, or is passenger is someone speedhacking.. or will i also be seen as a speedhacker is a speedhacker rams my car, and i go airbourne for a few seconds?

laggy-ness depends on your connections speed, and ofcourse the server you play on. i have a fairly common broadband cable internet connection, and i never experience lag. but if you play with a 56k modem, thing could get laggy. although the only people noticing this will be your enemies. also, i must warn you.. MTA is in beta stage. it tends to hang every now and then (about every 10 to 15 minutes), but it's very playable anyway. and they are still developing on MTA, so things are looking bright.

MTA works for both GTA3 and VC. you cannot do any mission, and as you allready guessed, the areas are all accessable. but i havent played MTA with GTA3 yet, will try that as soon as i get tired of VC, which will probably be .. *never*

your pc looks qualified enough to play it fairly in a reasonable resoluton (16it 800x600 i'd say). It's easy to find eachother if you're on the same server. just all connect to the same ip, and you're ready to roll. and YES, you can kill everyone. once you spawn, it's total chaozz and thats the power of the game if you ask me. it anarchy, but it's how you use your freedom. you can defend grounds, attack, drive, race, chat.. anything goes. have lot's of fun!

You do cheat I shot you and saw blood you didn't die I shot you with missles from the hunter... you didn't die I punched you for an hour... nothing And once I saw you sliding around on your back... you hacker all these symptoms are common in MTA. either because of lagging or other small sync problems. i've seen many situations where members of my clan slid across on their backs after i shot them. and i KNOW they don't cheat. so, like the topicstarter said: And they cry out cheater.

blue. because that is based on proven technoligy. GTA:C is build from scratch and will more likely be something like MTA 0.4.1..

Errr.. Stanton dude, don't you even bother reading the post of JonChappell. He said, the MTA versioin you are playing IS A BETA VERSION! and if you want to help the coders, you can use the Error Report Tool.. read b4 u post.
