T0niC
How big it will be? I just thought San Andreas has not any 'area loading' scenes, so i think how someone can HOST that server. It needs very much of data, textures ect. Everything needs something. Link to comment
njr1489
Just so you know, the whole map is 6 by 6 kilometers or 36 million square meters. Link to comment
eAi
The server doesn't care how big the map is, the data is all stored locally. Link to comment
Leviathan
just like eAi says, MTA servers are really light running, I run my clanserver and it is really small, becouse all data is stored locally Link to comment
T0niC
Okay well.. How the data? If there's many houses, inside houses ect. like Casino, so the server is running still. If the data is small or something. But need of course good upload like 1mb, 8 mb or something. Link to comment

Oyst3r
Just to say how it should work. The game data is storred locally. When you install MTA, all the car locations are storred locally, and all that. MTA servers just have the software needed to sunc people together to play, all the textures, areas, vehicles, buildings, and so forth are stored on the hard drive of your computer, not of the server. orappa
Most of the data is processed by your computer, not the server. The server just synchronises information (although this may be different with Spearhead). If the map's bigger, all the server has to do is store bigger numbers for your coordinates. It's just an independent program that doesn't need GTA in order to operate. Link to comment
derhitman
all stored locally as like vice city when u go over the bridge the game wil load a sec ? Link to comment
Subwoofer
all stored locally as like vice city when u go over the bridge the game wil load a sec ? If you read this topic again, it will become clear there are no loading scénes in Sa, so their won't be any on the servers... Link to comment
Leviathan
I've never seen an ingame loading screen in SA, so how will they get in MP... they don't. Link to comment
DominionSpy
There are loading screens, it's just that they are black. They only appear when entering/exiting somewhere with a loadable interior. Link to comment
Leviathan
oh yes ofcourse. alltough there aren't when you go from LV to SF or what else..., but yeah, interiors have to be loaded It goes so fast on my pc I just think it is a cinematic. The whole game loads in 6 seconds. so a small interior is too small to mention. Link to comment
ArmedAndDangerous
Will interiors work in sync too, so that when you go into a Burger shot (or somewhere else) at the same time as another player, you'll see them in there? Link to comment
Leviathan
Aren't all burger shot rooms one and the same? so if you enter the SF burger shot, you'll be in the same room as the LS burger shot... weird, but a good and fast meeting place... Link to comment
NosGoth
weird, but a good and fast meeting place... This is true. However, the 'portals' (the doors ) to these interiors are different. Thus it is most likely that you cannot meet each other if one enteres the Burger shot in SF and another enters it in LS. They would be in the same interior but in another 'dimension'. I could be wrong though. And should I be wrong, then indeed it is very easy to meet up with people, because you do not have to travel all the way there. Link to comment
Leviathan
Yeah If there is a meeting somewhere it could take ages to come there hehehe. Link to comment
Replicators
Well if you enter in to a store you won't exit out of the store to a store far away will you?So the shops and stuff are all different, though they may look identicle. Link to comment
Jigga
he means the shops use the same interior, but they are put in random/different locations... so yes, i reckon it's impossible to met in two different (but looking identical) burger shots Link to comment
Ransom
I dunno, seems like they would save a lot of space with the latter and this game has a ton of stuff in it... I dont know. Link to comment
njr1489
heh, if draco did it, MTA can do it lol. Link to comment

Leviathan
But isn't there just only 1 interior and does the difference come with the teleporters? Link to comment
[FMJ]chode
im sure that even if it they both would lead you to the same interior then it wouldn't be too hard to get round it because where you entered would be different. This could be used to be able to determine who you could "see" and who could "see" you, however you would technically be in the same place Link to comment
