(and for scorp you couldnt buy the max gun with 2,000)

I wasen't saying that

a million for a sniper? why that?

If the money are well balanced then you won't need to get to so unrealistic heights. Sniper could well be a 10000$ weapon, we need one of those in GTA3 :D

perhaps you cud spawn with the same guns. Just make them availiable with more hightech guns for purchase

I think that that wouldn't work with a gunshop. I think that would work with a completely different system though: a certification system. Say you start with 20 certifcation points. You can choose what weapons you want and stuff like that before you spawn. So let's say it looked like:

Pistol-2 credits

Melee weapons-1 credit

Chainsaw-3 credits

Body armor-10 credits

Ect. ect. ect.

If you ever played firearms (mod for hl1) you would understand what I mean (if you don't already.)

I would rather prefer a currency system with a gunshop in my opinion.

There should also be a trading option where you can trade in your weaker gun and by a stronger gun for less. EX: Trade in your pistol and get a shotgun for 1000 when it is 1500. Or there can be a store credit or a bank option where you can save money so everytime you get killed you can withdrawl your money and still have it.

that would be good but then when you gain more cert points from kills you can get more advanced guns, but that means you have to sell 1 of ur spawn guns

I wasn't really thinking of gaining certification points. Just having a constant 20.

the thing I initially liked about GTA3 gunshop was that you got more advanced weapons as you got along and improved your gameplay. (e.g being able to buy the sniper when you got really good in Vice) so that seems pretty shit to me

Nope, just as you can't load TFC and CounterStrike into half-life and get flags and bomb sites.

eAi

I'm suprised you haven't gone for a plugin system like IRC where you can load as many plugins as you want. Ovbiously there might be some conflicts between plugins but i'm sure people would be smart enough to disable them if they were to encounter problems.

Unfortunately you think too highly of people. An alarming number of people are not that smart, proof of which can be discovered on this very forum (no names mentioned).
