Guest
Hey Guys, I know im new here, but please bare with me. I was reading through the forums the other day and came across a project called MTA:AC (MultiTheftAuto:Anti-Cheat), a project started off by eAi. I kept reading through the forum thinking this would be awesome, after reading of users having problems with cheaters. Then after reading some more, eAi canned the project, saying that Blue will have a better AC system WHEN RELEASED . Now, I know Blue is gonna be awesome, but I dont want to wait that long for an anti-cheat system to be implemented. Here is what i want to do. I would like to continue eAi's work and setup a AC system that we can use for the time being until Blue has been released. But i wont start anything until i hear feadback from you guys. What do you think? Link to comment

Scorp
hmm I think people would prefer a solution released by the MTA team and not just some random person. Even though I'm sure someone could come up with a great anti-cheat program they would need to break the EULA (I think) cause it would involve modding of MTA in some way. I think eAi ditched the project cause it was so boring to code A anti-cheat would be great for the 0.4.x series, especially since GTA III (maybe) won't ever get Blue technology. Link to comment
Shib
Yeah I agree with Scorp, you are a bit anonymous to the MTA forums, hardly anyone knows you. Although if you get to know people maybe the MTA team will negotitate Link to comment

Scorp
especially since GTA III (maybe) won't ever get Blue technology. Know of many GTA III cheaters, do you? I've noticed some, I try to report them on the forum and to the admin. But when you can't get a ip then its almost useless. However there are a lot less cheaters in GTA 3 than in VC, this also reflects how many play the different games. VC has ten times more servers, and equally many cheaters. There's nothing more annoying than a cheater that messes up the game, almost all MTA players run into cheaters at some time, the only thing we can do is to report them. edit: now that I think about, I've only encountered about 2-4 cheaters in GTA III so far. So the situtation is not that bad Link to comment

I don't think so. eAi started that before he was even on the team, which presumably is the reason why he no longer has time to work on it. Plus, it's probably no longer necessary in Blue. I really hope they do make a version for GTA3 though. Link to comment
Guest
I welcome your comments. I know I havent been in the MTA community for very long, but i feel, especially in MTA:GTA that hackers and cheaters have become a big problem and should be combated. The program would work similar to that of Cheating Death, where they would be a client/Server arrangement and the client would do checks to see if you dont have any trainers, cheats etc. I guess i really cant do anything without the permission from the MTA team, so i shouldnt really get my hopes up Link to comment
MTA Team Blokker_1999 Posted October 14, 2004 MTA Team Share Posted October 14, 2004 anti cheat systems require integration in server and client. This can not be done by none teammembers. The next core will support better anti cheat measurments and will be available for VC when it initially launches. A GTA3 version is still planned at this moment but only after the release of Blue will we decide if we continue work on the GTA3 version. Link to comment

I suppose it depends on when Blue for VC is released. There will be a lot of pressure on the team to release a client for SA when it is released for PC, so if Blue is released shortly before the PC release of SA, they'll probably choose to sidestep GTA3 and develop for SA.
