Kent747
we always do the best we can in trying to keep the game running smoothly, unfortunately MTA puts quite a strain on the engine... so there is only so much we can do. Link to comment
happyrock
is blue more of a strain on the engine then mta.04? because if it is won't all these addons make it worst? Link to comment
Kent747
it can be... you have to be careful when you write one.... an addon can be as complex as you decide.... so keep that in mind when you write one... if you are running a lot of loops then things will bog down, We'll cover this when we release the SDK Link to comment
janipewter
ah well my game runs close to 100fps at 1024x768x32 in single player, and between 15 and 60fps at 800x600x32 in a moderately full mta server so should i be ok? Link to comment
Kent747
i imagine so.... there are also some methods that MTA is forcing, one bieng hte framelimiter, (sorry guys) this will actually be beneficial for everyone,as it provides a good way to test the stress of your addons w/ BLUE, as well as verifying that the physics interractions are more in sync w/ other players (thus smoother movement, better crashing, racing etc).. Slothman
HELL YEAH! forcing the frame limiter on is brilliant, theres no reason richer people should be able to run/shoot faster. (cause they can afford better systems) glad to hear that Link to comment
janipewter
what will the frame limiter limit the frame rate to? Link to comment
orappa
what will the frame limiter limit the frame rate to? 30 fps, I think. Link to comment
Slothman
janipewter, the frame limiter is built into gta3 and VC, it limits it to 30 fps. without the frame limiter, a powerful system actually makes the game's speed faster. Link to comment
Oli
very happy to hear that frame limiter thing is forced now, thats awesom Link to comment

orappa
No problems at all there. If it's more than 1.2GHz, it should be ok. Link to comment
Guest
I find the ingame frame limiter actually makes my game jerk thats why its off for me and always has been. Any chance of you guys making a better one? if thats possible to include with mta:blue. Link to comment
TempEcho
I think the frame limiter is a great idea , if it makes your game jerky , then try updating your grapic drivers and sound card drivers Also , try to install unofficial drivers , they usualy are better , or install the 1.1 patch Mr.Xanni Link to comment
Brophy
yep, then u dont get ppl running around u at like 30mph , hehe Link to comment

orappa
Anything above 25fps is perceived as "smooth". There's no maximum rate that the eye can see. Link to comment
SM xenex
There's no maximum rate that the eye can see. Acctually there is,ill try and get a link to where it says the amount, i dunno what it is but i can say for sure there is a limit. Link to comment

TempEcho
okay , maybe this will awnser your questions: http://www.100fps.com/how_many_frames_c ... ns_see.htm Link to comment
orappa
The link didn't actually answer the question: So what is "Enough fps"? I don't know, because nobody went there so far. Maybe 120fps is enough, maybe you will get headaches after 3 hours. Seeing framewise is simply not the way how the eye\brain system works. It works with a continuous flow of light\information. (Similar to the effects of cameras' flashlights ("red eyes"): flashing is simply not the way how we see). So there are still questions. Maybe you need as much as 4000fps, maybe less, maybe more.
