Low FPS, no methods worked yet.

Question

Hi there! After asking everywhere in google, yahoo, etc. I haven't got any satisfactory answer. I even googled for hours but no luck. Here's my issue. I play CIT(Community of integrity and transparency) most of you might be familiar as it's a famous server. It has players above 900. And there are special criminal events which occur from time to time. It is of 20 v 20, plus including criminals makes it 60+ people in one interior. And at this place my PC gives up, and starts giving me low FPS. Very low, It is that much slow that it takes 4 secs to take one step. I've been suffering for this and I finally thought of getting a GPU, I had pre-installed 256 MB of graphics. I installed NVIDIA GeFoce GT610 2 GB DDR3 in the hope that I will be getting good FPS. But still no sign of it. I was facing the same old issue I used to face. And now, after some months I'm thinking of upgrading my RAM which I did. It used to be 2 but it is 3 now. It is 3 GB just for now since he didn't had 2 GB, I told him just to install 1 GB so that I can see a improvement in game but nope, no improvement, the same old crappy FPS, the same old gameplay.

Here are are some specs and everything:

Processor: AMD Phenom 9650 Quad-Core Processor, 2.3 GHz

Graphics card: GeForce GT 610 (2 GB DDR3 memory)

RAM: 4 GB (Current is 3 GB, I'll be installing 2 or more to make it 4+)

Some SSs: My FPS when I was in a outdoor criminal event called PDR: http://i.imgur.com/8u3g6RY.png

My RAM: http://i.imgur.com/DA9gB5Q.png

Other specs: http://i.imgur.com/DA9gB5Q.png

About directX: http://imgur.com/QXd9onH

So, what do you guys think What is the issue? What can I do to get it fixed? I really need to get this fixed!

Please Follow steps

1- Close MTA San Andreas , other Internet Browser , other Programs

2- Please Press "Windows Key + R"

3-Then type "taskmgr.exe"

4- then go to "Performance Tab"

5- Then Screenshot and post here

and update your drivers from here : http://www.touslesdrivers.com/index.php?v_page=29

also , maybe problem caused by a virus

Download any Antivirus from here :

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... s-partners

* You Should use AVAST Antivirus

Make sure that antivirus up to date

Where's the performance tab? I can't find it. The website link you gave me is in spanish. And I've already re-checked my drivers with NVIDIA's official website, so my GT610 is up to date. Secondly, I've got Quickheal anti virus which is worldwide trusted. It is premium, So I don't wanna get any other anti virus.

@Talidan: Here it is: http://i.imgur.com/al2cNJ5.png

@ccw: I've already got x86 version of the program already installed. When I opened it, it asked for a location and "Extract" after I pressed on extract, nothing happened.

EDIT: Idk, I did something and it worked. What to do now?

The pastbin URL it gave me: http://pastebin.mtasa.com/error[No code2 specified]

@Albander: Those 2 processes you mentioned cannot be stopped since they are related to Quickheal antivirus, which is why whenever I try to stop it, it says "Operation could not be complete, Access is denied"

@Towncivilian: I am currently downloading the "audio driver" but when I try to download the ethernet driver it says "Illegal download attempt", can you please specific another link? It doesn't works.

when I try to download the ethernet driver it says "Illegal download attempt", can you please specific another link? It doesn't works.

http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsview.aspx?langid=1&pnid=13&pfid=5&level=5&conn=4&downtypeid=3&getdown=false then take the Win7 version

After that, do this:

- Update your video driver, for fps. Currently you use an generic windows-packed driver that can have bad impact on the performance. here for your card: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/76508

Then, you have directx but not all depencies. Run this: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

Now actually your graphics card is the bottleneck, GT 610 is known to not run well on GTA/MTA and other games (even with its memory), but if you want to improve to the max then do above steps, still you can't get more out of a card that is unable to, so think of upgrading your video card if it won't improve by now.

One more thing, googling your motherboard's BIOS version, found out that this is a faulty version giving more FPS problems on all kind of games. Name your motherboard model and I will link you the update they called a ''critical patch''.

(Finding the motherboard model can for example be done with CPU-Z: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html tab Mainboard, or opening your system case)

@Towncivilian @Dutchman101

I've downloaded all 3 files given by you two. Here's the new MTADiag log: http://pastebin.mtasa.com/545638923

And Dutchman, the microsoft link you provided didn't worked for me. I tried downloading it from there but it doesn't responds. Can you upload it at mediafire? Or any other website you like. And also, I don't think that I will be able to get a new GPU any time soon. Since I've already bought new GPU as well as RAM. It might take some time.

And here's about my motherboard: http://i.imgur.com/cm7RpU9.png

OK, all the drivers updated successfully. You're now running a beta nVidia graphics driver but that should be alright.

Dutchman is correct in that your BIOS is several revisions old. Make a DOS-bootable USB flash drive following these instructions, then put this archive's contents and this archive's contents onto your flash drive. Boot from the flash drive and enter AFUDOS238 M3A78-EM~1.ROM into the prompt, then follow the instructions. Provide another screenshot of the Mainboard tab in CPU-Z after updating please.

wait, what? Towncivilian, tbh I don't think that I can do all that stuff on my own. I am just a gamer, I don't this type of complicated stuff normally. So, is there any type of video or any instructions from your side? It's too much for me.

edit: How do I overcome this? scren: http://i.imgur.com/1kTFmjv.png

It is supposed to work like the tut but it isn't..

EDIT: I understood everything now. It requires a USB(pendrive) and currently I don't have one, all of them are engaged. Is there any other way?

And correct me if i am wrong, the instructions link you gave me towncivilian requires a USB(pendrive) or it doesn't?

Should work fine, click this just to make sure: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

You are saying not having an USB stick. The reason i told you about the BIOS being outdated as Towncivilian confirmed, is that in your specific case, your BIOS is a corrupted version that was subject of a massive campaign to get everyone using it, to update. It made difference in many games, not only MTA, and after the ''critical patch'' (they described) many more ''performance and memory'' updates were released on the BIOS for your mainboard.

(For reference, google this: https://www.google.nl/search?q=BIOS+Date+03%2F27%2F09 or enter search term: BIOS Date: 03/27/09)

Above search will show that your current BIOS version is a troubled release giving FPS and crashing problems to all kind of games. That's why it is recommended to anyways take your time to get an USB stick, and get it done maybe with technical help, your FPS problems have a good chance of being caused by this here, atleast will improve.

Here we are obviously not aimed to provide full allround technical support, but because I found that out am doing it anyways as it could be the main cause.

Now we're looking at your specific mainboard, also the chipset driver, install it: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/utils/AMD_Chipset_V13049_VistaWin7.zip

Then, you were playing CIT that means you are on 1.4. 1.4 had some D3D (graphics) fixes after first release, make sure to use this version: https://nightly.multitheftauto.com/?mtasa-1.4-full-latest

So then, after following all steps in all posts here, evaluate the performance improvement while keeping the BIOS update in mind, see what improved already and if it's more playable, until you find an USB/knownledge on the BIOS flashing.

Last thing to do, after updating 1.4 going to Documents > GTA San Andreas User Files, delete gta_sa.set there.

Now launch MTA, and make sure to set FX quality to ''Low'' and Anti aliasing disabled, and see how it works after.

@Dutchman: ok, the Microsoft link you gave now worked properly. Installed it already.

So, what you are saying is that the BIOS version my PC has is the main cause? If it needs a USB stick, then how much size? I mean 4 GB, 6 GB, 8 GB? How much does it needs? And also how much space will it consume in the USB stick? Just for example, if it has 6 GB of space, and I used it for MS DOS bootable flash, then the whole space it has will be consumed? Or it will be stored somewhere in the harddisk in the PC?

- Installed the chipset which you linked.

- Installed the 1.4 MTA:SA you linked, I think i had the latest one too, but still I didn't wanted to take any chances

- Deleted gta_sa.net

No improvement in FPS at all. It didn't even boosted me 1 FPS. It was still the same.

@Towncivilian: You sure? Only 8 MB? I currently have a USB flashdrive of 4 GB. The 8 MB will already be used? Or after the process I can move it to my PC harddisk?

It's really that small and because of that, copying a BIOS file to USB sticks will take less than 2 seconds.

Try finding some tutorial, get someone with knownledge on it, read how Towncivilian explained it (not hard, everyone can do it) or leave it and be stuck with a corrupted BIOS draining down PC's performance (yes it is) and no matter what video card you upgrade with, it might run smooth with another video card but the BIOS will always take a huge part of the maximum potential performance, away.

The 8 MB will already be used? Or after the process I can move it to my PC harddisk?

It will be used on your mainboards ''BIOS chip'' and not on your harddisk, it's a flash-once process to be deleted from the USB/harddisk after doing it. It will replace the ''mainboard'' software and not fill it with 8MB more (even though that's literally nothing but if you didnt understand yet)

@Dutchman: I just want to know if it's safe. So, it'll take 8 MB size in the USB stick permanently or I can move it after some time? Also, where to put those two files which are given by Towncivilian? Also, the method is gonna format my PC? It says there "Quick format".

Last and the most important: After I do that, my FPS will be fixed?

EDIT: So, after the process I'll be able to eject my USB stick right?

As always you need to take precautions on the process of flashing a BIOS. This isnt an extended technical support forum, so search that on google and see the instructions from Towncivilian or some tutorial on flashing BIOS's, your other question about the size it takes, 8MB is nothing and it can obviously be removed after you finish updating it and because you can delete it, moving it to somewhere else logically isn't needed. (if this answers your questions enough as im repeating the same thing)

Secondly, you just have a great chance the FPS problems are partially caused by this, but there will always be a part at your hardware: It's not the fastest or recommended to run GTA/MTA with at all, though without other slowdown factors it could just run ok (bios)

Also, where to put those two files which are given by Towncivilian? Also, the method is gonna format my PC? It says there "Quick format". So, after the process I'll be able to eject my USB stick right?

1. In the main directory of the USB as explained

2. It will not format your PC, select the USB stick station before clicking properties > format (the usb)

3. Yes, if you have updated it you can eject it obviously.

Okay, I want you guys to take a real good look at this screen: http://i.imgur.com/1Qkv9SB.png

I've got 4 slots in which DDR2 type RAM can be plugged in. I used to have only 2 GB of RAM, then since most of the people said that 2 GB isn't enough, I installed one 1 GB RAM card, and a 2 GB RAM card, which is equal to 5 GB. As it is showing in the SS given above, I've 5 GB installed but only 3.25 GB is usable. The dude who installed it (Not a real professional, but a dummy) told us that the Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit is only capable working with a maximum of 3.25 GB, however the rest of it will be used by the game, although I've seen many people whose PC have above 8 GB installed, and all of it is usable. Secondly, I went to "canyourunit.com" the website tells one that if their is capable of running a particular game and after the scan the website showed that my PC has only 3.3 GB of RAM installed. I assume that dumba** has done something wrong?

I think this is related here since RAM is required for good FPS. I've already paid the amount for the RAM.
