Coolnat2004
I recently got a Kensington Optical Elite mouse for my computer. It's great, and it comes with the Kensington mouseworks software to handle the extra buttons and make gestures and such. Ever since I got this mouse, I've noticed it's slowed down VC and MTA:VC a lot, well at least the cursor moves slowly in the menus, cant click on the menus, and in game it sort of lowers the framerate. Could this be an incompatibility with the mouseworks software or something? Link to comment
True
Very well could be. I use a Logitech MX700, M$ drivers, without issue. I dont use the extra buttons... Link to comment
xerox
well i guess using an MS mouse with ms drivers on an ms os doesnt cause any problems =) (damn im an m$ whore ) never heard of mouse drivers etc affecting speed, does the system slow down without anything running, with other programs or only while vc is running? dystopia
Kensginton, oh boy, I hold a personal grudge against them. We had an old pc with one of their old ergo-track balls. go to uninstall it, the drivers stuck, so we put another ps2 mouse in, wouldn't work...we had to format the entire drive and reinstall everything to put a new mouse in. AH i hate kensington, so far as i've sen their little extra apps are horribly coded and the resources they take are completely not worth what they do. I went out and got me a 25 dollar M$ optical intelli mouse, works great. Link to comment
Dgtadude
I had the same problem . I use a Logitec Wireless Optical Mouse . So i called their help service and they told me to go to >Start menu>Control Panel > Mouse> Go to "Motion" TAB> Try to find "Disable Acceleraion in-game" I know this might seem that it will make the mouse slower in-game . And it mgiht , But if your PC is setup to make the mouse VERY slow then this will actually fix it . Since it will add the correct speed in-game. IF you cant find this option then , Call your product help line system . And they should help ya Link to comment
Coolnat2004
Well..I was talking about the mouse moving slowly ONLY in menus, and disabling clicks in menus. The speed in-game is fine..I guess it is just a computer performance thing and I need to kill some more processes (like Explorer..who needs that while playing VC? =P) But, now I have a new problem.. During MTA VC crashes with out any crash dialogue or anything, it just closes. then MTACLIENT.exe hogs up a HUGE 530MB of my page file (only after VC crashes in this manner)..which causes windows to increase the size because the normal size is near 400MB.. Dgtadude
I know Explorer might seem like an extra thing . But it is not . It is actually good for the game speed . All you have to do is close everything and then explorer should lowere the mb's that it is using . IF you close explorer Windows will be forced to create more virtual memory . And that REALLY slows down your game for a while . Link to comment
