Guest Posted August 17, 2003 Posted August 17, 2003 Hi! I'm playing with Vice City 1.0, no MODs installed. Tried to play today, and went ok. After a few Minutes of playing i recognized an arrow on the Map.. there's a pink circle in the Pizzeria south of the starting point. Every time i try to approach the Circle the Game freezes. I didn't find anything about this arrow, what is the meaning or what should happen there? Intended or just a "glitch"?

Guest Posted August 17, 2003 Posted August 17, 2003 Oops.. i meant NORTH of Starting Point.. tried it again, still crashes. Shortcuts to Dirt Ring works. But if it's only the Help area, i can live with it .. er, without it.. Thx!

trx Posted August 18, 2003 Posted August 18, 2003 That's odd. It *shouldn't* crash, but I guess it does for some people. If the people who have had this crash would be so kind to tell me what resolution they are playing on, what video card they use, I might be able to simulate the crash and find a cure for it. I think it might be the backgrounds for the text (they grey transparent line). None of the Devs have this problem, so what I could do, is send test-scm's to people who have this problem, so I can find out when it will be running stable. It may not sound important to have a help area, but we intend to use similar text drawing on screen at several places, so a fix will be needed, or some people will not be able to play at all.

I play with the Bloodpatch, and used German (yes, i copied the german.gxt to the MTA folder) so it seems to be the same freeze i encounter if i enter the Firetruck (although i got rid of this one in the normal Game)

Posty Posted August 18, 2003 Posted August 18, 2003 I can't even go into the help area. It freezes every time. And yes, I do use the english version. I have tried on foo, in car, and on motorcycle. It crashes every time. I got it to work once, but then a few seconds after that ot crashed. I prolly have a weird bug.
