They wont make you lag and 30-40 mb is nothing big really

i dont know your net speed, but most of my players got around 1-2 Mbit.. so average is 160KB/s

4 minutes of downloading.

my average is around 100, sometimes more, sometimes less.. i downloaded once 70MB from one server,

it took 17 minutes, great!

and imagine the situation:

most ppl got around 64KB/s upload max.

if they host servers on own internet connection .. its crazy..

5 ppl connecting, so download drops to 12,8KB/s, BUT game data trasnfer is around 4KB/s for player i think (im not sure), so 8KB/s its real..

try to download 30MB with 8KB/s :P

You guys have forget an good and interesting fact.

The download speed also changes between the amount of files.

Lets say the deathlist resource have around 100+ images ( litle ones with 1 / 2 kb max )

and is around 300kb of download size.

Lets compare:

Side A: Deathlist resource ( the one with around 100+ litle images ) - 300kb download ( just an example )

Side B: 1 txd file including dff - 4 MB

Side B will finish first even thought it has 4mb to download but since is only ONE file it will donwload more faster ( i tested this with textures and donwloads really fast ), its why it was sugested in many topics to implement compression on mta when client donwloads.

I cant explain in a better way but i think you guys got the point, so 30mb of download is not that deal if is with car mods as it only replaces TXD and DFF ( two files. )
