me
Now then, you guys [by which i mean the programmers] probably have thought about this already (how couldn't you have?) But replays might be a method of syncing. You would create a sort of... replay system thing, where several game blocks are covered by one replay file. Here's the problem: If the files are downloaded from a server as the person plays, then there would be monstrous lag. But maybe, there would be a huge number of these files and you would download them with the mod! It would make traffic and pedestrian's movement less random, but without them there wouldn't even BE pedestrians or traffic. Just an idea from someone who has no idea how mods work... Try and avoid posting, unless you know about it, and aren't as un-educated as me Link to comment
TheBigJ
could some 1 plz pm me about replays. how do you save/ ff/rewind/change angel. what else can you do with them. xerox
That syncing method seems a little complicated =) OK - you cant FF, REW pause etc in replays on the PC. R* went half-ass and rushed this part of the game =( You can control the angle with the mouse, and save by pressing F2, then view the save over and over by pressing F3 - but thats it =( Link to comment
Wezz6400
I didn't even know you could view/make replays in gta3! You press F1 to do that or? Link to comment
mavrick_uk
F1 and that was my idea, not with replays tho, but to give everyone the same ped patterns. and erm, look in the peds and cops in 3.0, thief Link to comment
xerox
it saves the replays in the GTA3 user files (same place as your save game). You can save the replays by copying them to another directory, as gta3 just overwrites them as soon as you press F2 again. Link to comment
