Fix for MTA!

Before you get your Panties in a wad I like MTA.

Cut your losses now, Stop spending endless hours programming a single player game into a multiplayer. It is obvious that this MTA is Far Far away from being the game that it needs to be. Drop the MTA, and Mod the game called Battle Field 1942 into MTA. You will have to render the buildings, cars, people and terrain also you will have draw textures thats it. Battle Field 1942 is one of the best games for Modding. Just take a look at the mod links below.

lol - why spend hours upon hours rendering multiple buildings and vehicles into bf1942?

the reason the team are trying to mod gta3 is because there are so many possibilities for gameplay that a standard fps is limited to.

I mean there can't be a capture the car game (depends if you can steal the vehicle off a driver or you have to blow it up in bf1942 since i havent played it yet), nor could there be a race where you can still win if your car crashes (by stealing another one), you cannot use a baseball bat to bludgeon your opponents, and you cant throw molotovs standing on top of a moving vehicle either =)

And gta3 can pretty much do every game-mode that that a regular fps can, dm, team dm, ctf, team fortress, last man standing, koth etc etc. It could even do cs well, i mean people already follow you in gta3 (if a little stupidly) and the team could do bomb plant and diffusal scenarios as well.

The reason mta is far away from its goals is the fact that the project isnt even 6 months old and this is version 0.3b not 1.X, as long as the community give the project some time, in a year or so, mta could be something big.

Yes gta3 is hard to mod, but thats just the challenge. Without the original game's source code, or some fleshed out mp code its pretty difficult to make a mod.

The open-ended gameplay in gta3 is unparralelled by anything else and its impossible to put the gta world into anything without the gameplay being all messed up.

Sorry if this sounds like a flame, but I was trying to be reasonable - please reply with your response, a friendly discussion would be appreciated.

The team excists out of programmers who find it challenging to make a mp mod for GTA3. We are not 3D artists who can create a new world.

BF 1942 is the next HL when it comes to modding. And it is easy to do. That is why we took up the challange to mod GTA3

They realized that the main reason HL sold so well, and stayed in use so long, was because it had the best modding tools/community/system... so they want to make it waaaaay better :)

I've seen some screenies about modding HL2 and it is reaaly easy. There is a map where all buildings are showed. If you want them, copy/paste them. For indoor when you build the structure it is very easy to build a texture on it.

The SDK is prolly gonna be released be4 the game :shock:

k since I'm a Half-Life mapper, (yes I make maps for Hl, yay!) I can eexplain this more, the thing you were probably rtalking abuot were prefabs, things areadly made, like cars or elevators or such, for those who want to know how to map for hl2, get hl1 and download Hammer vseomthing I meyself Use Worldcraft 3.3 (older version of hammer, I'll have to changew though) and its real easy, so if you want to get a hadstart, go ahead. :)

hell yeah Battlefield kicks major ass if ya wanna run around and kill some dumb ass players it's got blood and everything man you gotta check it out if you don't have it yet it's just starting to get good !!!

if I remember correctly, BF1942 actually doesn't have blood. You have to use a crack/patch to get it... :P

and as for a map, I'd need to find one somewhere not whiped out of exisstence, as I resently deleted all my hl things (164mb left, what could I do?)

oh here is one, I made it for a clan a while agoo, one of my last works, uh. I think its tfc, or hl wich ever gl with it as im not sure the condition of it :)

back on topic though...

The problem with using BF1942 to create GTA3:MTA, is that it isn't really gta3 you're playing, no matter how close you get.

it'd always be BF1942:GTA3:MTA...
