Im on a network with another computer and i we cant connect to the same server, even a server i make myself, its stuped i suspect it has somthing to do with having the same ip

Well, you probably should explain what you're doing so we can explain what you're doing wrong.

normally you don't have the same IP in a network

you can allways manually set the IP if think that is your problem.

I thought all computers on a network have the same external IP.

ofcourse they got the same external :wink:

but if you connect inside a network itself you use your LAN ip. wich isn't the same as the other pc's

so you have to connect to localhost or your home ip (start-->run-->cmd-->ipconfig) and not your internet ip

a) On what pc is your server running (IP)?

b) Whats the second pc IP?

c) What IP do you connect to?

d) What error do you get?

e0 do you have a router

because if you do there is no way you can host a server whit out open ports

I misread your first post, thought you were talking about external IP.

Anyway, if it's an internal IP conflict, the computers wouldn't be able to connect to the network in the first place, right? So I don't think there's anything wrong with his internal IP configuration. Maybe it just doesn't support two players from the same IP..

Looks like he tried connecting to a server outside his network as well.
