Ravenheart Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 I was wondering if you could add the option(to MTA - SA) to connect to the master server via a proxy.
Si|ent Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Aloowing banned people to alter thier ip range entirely? Not a good idea.
darkdreamingdan Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Yes, i agree with bump (btw your avatar needs updating) There are some games which have proxy options, but it isnt really in much of a demand. I suggest you try something like Proxify or something instead
Ravenheart Posted January 25, 2006 Author Posted January 25, 2006 No i mean the server to use a proxy, not client.
darkdreamingdan Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 i still dont understand what you mean. Could you please state it clearly and back it up with an example, thanks. Also, do you mean giving your server a domain name by any chance?
Ravenheart Posted January 25, 2006 Author Posted January 25, 2006 Here is a small examle: Say my server is a room in a big building, in order for you to exit the building(you start from "the room") you have to walk through the corridor and from the corridor to the main exit, now say the main exit is blocked(my internet has died), you walk through the corridor again but instead of going to the main exit, you go to the back exit(well you could just jump out of the window but that would hurt ). That was an example i though of, and thats how proxy's work, if you have internet to only a few places(in my case its the proxy of my ISP's mother company) you say to the program you use, that you want it to connect to that proxy and from there the proxy acts like your outgoing connection.
MTA Team Blokker_1999 Posted January 25, 2006 MTA Team Posted January 25, 2006 you have any idea what a proxy is for?
Ravenheart Posted January 25, 2006 Author Posted January 25, 2006 I don't know how it works in details, but the basic explaination that i know is that you "jump" to the machine that is the proxy and all the traffic you use(like download things) go through the proxy machine and from it to you. Hey i'm a newbie at administering networks and stuff, just finding cool things for my ISP's customers to play online.
s0beit Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 a proxy is possible though you would need some one to set up your very own MTA proxy server or get yourself some new ips to host the server on? usless junk.
orappa Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Er... if your internet connection dies, how do you connect to the proxy server?
:Rob Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 or get yourself some new ips to host the server on? Teh Bing0
Si|ent Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Could you stop spamming outside the general area please xblade? some of us find the forum informative, interesting and useful and don't need your usually useless and often childish posts spreading throughout. Thanks
Ravenheart Posted January 27, 2006 Author Posted January 27, 2006 Er... if your internet connection dies, how do you connect to the proxy server? My international internet dies, local net is always working(we have a local link to the proxy).
