  1. Keep posting lots of screenies though This not-saying-release-dates reminds me a lot of Black and White 2's schedule. It's done when it's done. I'd like to say to you guys that you're doing the smartest thing possible.
  2. Hear hear! The mod is delayed, because they want to make it as good as possible... right? So let them! If you want to bother someone, go to the TF2 site or something. Better yet, go bother the GGM crew. I've seen their site, and personally, I prefer knowing anticipated release dates, and the progress of the mod. Suggestion to admin: ban these idiots.

  4. Please. He said that he might have a beta version, since he downloaded it off of KaZaA, which is why we said to go to spooky's site and get it. And only more recent mods have installers, and the only modding site i've found that actually uses the installers is gta3hq.com, which doesn't have all mods ever made. Sorry for being a stuck up cocky-as-hell ass, but I've been needing to vent for quite some time

  7. )Well, someone might have already, but I can't find it. Cops + Criminals = Fun. 2 teams, cops and criminals. Switch at the end of each round. You figure out the rest, but here are a few examples of its potential: A group of criminals steal an armored car, so there are a few cheetas escorting an armored car. You hear on the radio "stolen car, requesting backup". You turn on your siren, and follow the pip on the map, along with 3 other cops, heading through the streets. A few swat vans move in and start firing on the armored car, and the criminals who keep shooting at them. ________________________________ That just an idea, and I'm sure that you'll be able to come up with better things, but here's another one: If a criminal's wanted level increases, so does the accuracy of the pip on the map, and when the criminal has 6 stars, it's aiming right at them. Then the cops move in. ________________________________ Just some ideas. All I'm saying, is that there should be a cops and criminals based game mode. It's what Driver was missing, and what GTA3 was missing. Perhaps all can be made well by MTA. (oh ya, and if a very nice moderator would think about moving this to the General Discussion forum, that would be nice, because I'm sure it would get more exposure there, and since there is so much to discuss on this idea, it needs lots of people discussing it
  8. Go to spooky's main page (forget what it is, just search for it with google). Most mods have a readme that will detail where to put everything.
  9. I've noticed that the site has been down often in the past little while... I was thinking that if you guys were having trouble with your host you might want to check out http://www.neopages.net If they think that your cause is worthy, then they'll host it for you, for free, with unlimited bandwith... Just something to check out.

  12. Alright, I posted my syncing idea in it's own thread, but I really messed up, so I'm gonna take another shot at it. Things WOULDN'T be random. So... the entire city would go in a 5 min loop, where at the end of five minutes, it's back where it started. The only time peds and traffic would be synced would be if a player entered a ped/car's "bubble" (an invisible bubble that extended say... 15 game feet). Just so that if you ram into a ped's car, that all of the players will see the car flying off the road. this way, at any time, only about 30 peds - max, would have to be synced, yet traffic would still function. (the only problem would be that when you download the mod, you'd also have to download all the info for that 5 minute loop, which would make it a big file )

  16. I concur. I think I'll follow the progress of both mods, and if GGM is better, I'll go (somewhat reluctantly) with it, often checking for new versions of MTA so I can switch back (yup. I'm biased towards MTA )

  21. All right... trying out the mod. Oooh. Nice simple start interface. Reminds me of Xolox (file-sharing thing, like Napster). I give it a thumbs up. So far. (I haven't started playing yet:P) okay.. go to their website... get the serverlist... Hmm... It's good. Simple and clean. I don't like their forum as much as this one though... (neutral/thumbs up) From what I've seen so far, I realize how nice it is to have a simple interface... maybe the MTA team should check that idea out. Not much documentation. Not even a simple 3 step thing. (thumbs down) All right... let's try out a server... (I guess I'm supposed to have GTA3 running right now...) hmm.. wait a sec... all the servers are full. I'll just wait then. Yay! an open server! okay... *DING!* what the... "Please set the preferences before connectint to a server" nice grammar GoE:P But wait! I already set those! ahh... that should fix it. *DING!* hey! I SET THEM! darn computers... Maybe since it's running directly from a zip file... okay.. maybe it'll work now. (okay.. get an IP... paste it in...) MOTHER F**KER! (I consider bugs in software quite important) ooooh.... I'm surprised he didn't catch that one. I can't use the username "me" because it's too short or something. okay... darn! server's full now! gotta get into them quickly.... okay... grab another IP... paste it in... hit connect... *DING!* "you can't connect to a server while GTA3 is running" okay then... hmm.. some messages... "connecting to server" "connected" "starting GTA3..." ah! there it goes! hmm.. I'm at the starting menu... I'll start a new game and see what happens... HOLY!!!!! wow. choppy. okay.. let's get into a car... hey! there's another player! carrying a shotgun! cool! hmm... he appears to be hovering along. I bet it's magic that's making him do that. hey! let's go jack a taxi! alright... let's go driving! hey! another player! I'm going to ram him! *POW!* hmm... that didn't work out as planned. his car appears to have gone flying 20 feet into the air. how strange. that chat feature is lacking. you don't know when you're chatting or not, so even as I was typing this, every time I hit "u" it would send a message to everyone. oops. I officially call this mod a pure test mod. if you wanna goof around, then use this. Gameplay is nonexistent (then again, MTA 0.2a had no gameplay either). The only thing that kept me going in this was the "wow" factor. COOL! that guy's driving by me! yay! in truth, it shouldn't be called deathmatch. it should be called be-a-felon-with-others. (not that it means I won't play it, just that I'm gonna keep checking MTA's progress very often. as soon as 0.3a pops in, I'm gonna jump the GoE ship. (unless he does the impossible of creating a game that kicks complete ass at the same time as you guys release 0.3a, but even then, I wanna stick with you guys, cause I think you have a better idea of what would make a good MP mod.) I'm out.
