  1. didn't the San Angeles team say that they are implementing animals? while we're on the subject, what's the possibility of the 2 mods working together? i know if everyone has the same map mods then mta is possible, but San Angeles is more than just a map mod, right?
  2. damn, no group carsurfing? that ruins my dream of having a bat fight on top of a moving bus and see who gets knocked off first. ah well, one can dream. maybe with gta4. (nice graphic btw)
  3. yeah, car surfing rocks. get on top of a vehicle, put a bullet into it, and hang on. loads of fun, and in multiplayer it will be even better.
  4. for balance with co-op, maybe it should be that everyone must survive. if one player dies, then the missiion failed. that would certainly give incentive to co-operate
  5. the subway is 2 lanes wide isn't it? (never tried) if it was 2 lanes, then it would be cool, cause heading into a train, you better not be beside eachother.
  6. how about as soon as you die, a npc medic has to revive you so you can keep playing. it would give real incentive to keep alive if you have to wait for a medic to show up. of course, there would have to be a way to keep people from killing the medics, and keeping you dead. maybe a penalty, or just make em invincible. without a little wait for a respawn, people would just kamikazi eachother constantly, and no one would get awy from the spawn point.

  13. i can't find much discussion on cheat protection in the current forum. will there be any, or will it be an honour system? i mean, trainers so far have been known to work, as well as the codes. maybe putting a message like "cheating will crash your game" would deter newbies from cheating.
  14. how bout a shot like "the fugitive" poster, except with a guy running from a car with another guy leaning out with an uzi? as an artist, shouldn't you decide for yourself? i mean, would you feel comfortable using someone elses idea?
  15. yes, we gamers are a fickle lot, jumping between mods, dumping older games for newer ones with slightly better graphics (if you buy a way better system) Me, I'm going where the gaming is. if .3b sucks (im pretty damn sure it won't), then ggm it is. but i doubt it very much.
  16. who decided that the net will be almost all english anyways? i'm canadian, so i speak english (and not french), but aren't there a lot of other languages being spoken in other countries? i mean, why don't we run into jibberish half the time we're browsing?

  19. with uzis and hanguns you can run, while you are stuck moving like a snail with anything bigger. maybe we should run a test. someone start a server, give one guy a big gun, and the rest uzis. see what happens and report back. I SAID DO IT
  20. it's not the registration fee for users, it's for developers he mentioned. besides, it's not the fees, it's the constant banners and how cluttered the interface is with ads. gamespy got greedy. remember when fileplanet.com was a free and useful public service?
  21. yeah, i'd join an mta clan. split my time between aq2 and mta.
  22. a good rule for gang-play would be that the smaller the gang-the better the weapons you're given. that would give a little balance to it. you could choose to run with a big gang, only get pistols, and you would rely on your numbers to suvive, or if you join a posse of under 8 people, you'd get an uzi, giving a slight advantage to make up for your numbers
  23. i don't know exactly how much bandwidth syncing peds takes up, but i think i know a better way. dont sync up peds. instead, just remove any physics and damage code from the peds, so you can run them down without it effecting your car's path or damage your car at all. this way, you could still have fun mowing down peds, but there is no lag. only drawback is that other players can't see the carnage that you created. But if the next release has bug-free traffic and peds without lagging everything to a crawl, then just forget what i said. I suggested this in the last forums, but no one responded to my post. oh well.
  24. rockstar has never made their games very mod-friendly. i haven't looked in a while, but last i checked, max payne didn't have many good mods going for it. I think i read somewhere in the old forum that rockstar has a "hands-off" policy when it comes to game mods. Probably meaning: "sure, you can make a mod, but we're not going out of our way to help you"
  25. the thing is, consoles are taking over, cause all us pc guys have this thing called "the internet" where we can all download games for free. this makes the developers sad , so they went over to the consoles, where it's a heck of a lot harder to pirate. now all the cool games like gta3 are coming out on console, and if they sell enough copies, then they'll go to pc. I's a depressing trend, resulting in me still waiting for vice city.
