Yeah it sucks when you get killed exiting the chopper. Getting hit by cars... yeah it's part of the game. I absolutely can't stand it when people hit you back up and then run you over and over and over until you are dead.... you don't have a chance eo even move. I've come across people who did that non-stop. I can't stand it. Cheap kills and if that's the only wya they can get kills then that's pathetic. Same with using the chopper blades like that. As for not stanidng out in the open... When youre in the middle of a fight it's not always the first on your mind when you're dodging bullets.

Okay... I understand that yes the chopper blades are supposed to kill you which is why they added that to the game. BUT... Occasinally when getting out of a chopper if you are not careful you can get killed by appearing on top of it. Also... I'm getting really tired of these pathetic people who only know how to get kills by flying at you with the chopper and using it's blades to cut off your head. Alot of the times it's all alot of people do. I really get annoyed when I'm in a fight with people and out of a no where a chopper comes in and kills us all. Is there anyway to fix it so the blades do not kill when they hit you?

There are alot of people who do not know what the file will be used for or how to find it. It's jus lacking basic computer skills. I said INCLUDE that option. Not automattically assume that's where it is and not provide the choice for installation. Have the install assume the default location but give the option to change it before it does anything. Also, give the option.... if you do not know where the file is then click SEARCH. It's not going to change anything for anyone else but just make it easier for the people who need help. It's not rediculous at all.

gta-vc.exe is the executable file for Grand Theft Auto Vice City. Typically it is found in C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto Vice City\gta-vc.exe That is the default location where the game should be installed to. Attention MTA Team... You know.... There are so many people who have trouble with telling MTA Client where the game exe is you should really set it to check the default directory. Also, it might be a good idea to include a scan of some sort to search for it on the harddrive. Too many people lack the basic computer skills to do what is required for that. It's just a simple recurring problem that too many people have. It may sound funny or pathetic to people who do know how to do stuff like this but there are alot of people who think "You put the CD in, click Install, then play the game". They don't know or understand the basics of computers like what installing actually does. No offence to anyone who has no or will have trouble doing that but it's true. I think my above suggestions would really help out and not cause so many problems for alot of people.

I'd try it but first I need to know, how do you do it? If it was said then I missed it. If so someone point it out.

Okay... first of all I'm getting tired of all this lazy crap. If you're too lazy to press a key on the keyboard you shouldn't be playing MTA... or even own a computer for that matter. When I goto play MTA:VC I always press F10. Problem is the game crashes and sometimes crashes alot. It's at those times when i'm on a server and its crashing.. I'm after people and people are after me, I'd say about 1 out of 5 times I am in too much of a hurry to get back in the game and help out my teammates (and by teammates I mean Clan member(s)) that I forget to press it and then I've got people around me and not sure who is who. This has nothing to do with being a "noob" or lazy as some have put it... and some admit they are. I just thinkit would be a lot easier if it was automattically enabled or you had the choice to do so.

Ahh... they are called MMORPGs. Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games Everquest City of Heros World of Warcraft Sims All I can think of at the moment. They ahve been around and will be around.

Ahh I see it now. I added showplayers to the bottom of the list thinking maybe that might enable it on start up.... didn't help. I actually left the game and when I went to erase it from the config it wasn't there. Any other ideas?
-
I dont' have a config.cfg. Is it supported?
-
Oh okay... and here I thought things coudlnt' get any clearer.

Whenever I head into a game the first thing I have to do is press F10 so I can see who is who. It gets rather annoying when the game crashes because when I head back into the game I have a dendancy to forget to press F10 again. Is there anyway to have that feature enabled automattically on startup? The ability to see players names and health without having to press F10 everytime you go into the game.

I personally wouldnt' want to see that unless it can be disabled. I dont' like the idea of clients having control over the server in anyway because that bit of power can be abused. What i would like to see is the ability for a client or clients to sign in and have access to kick/ban though console or chat something like the way you can kill yourself... /KILL. Something like... /Kick or /Ban . Similar to the way things run in Quake3Engine games. Basically, a way to kick and ban without having to connect via Remote Server Admin.

That forum is set to not allow anyone to create a new thread unless they are a moderator. I can't speak for anyone else but I know I will not interupt a conversaion or thread about a problem when the discussion is about a different problem. If I could make new posts in that forum then I will make them there. Until then I make my posts in General MTA:VC forum where it will be seen and people can comment and reply to it. That's one thing I dont' understand. Why is it that members can create new threads in the MTA 0.3 Problems & Bugs forum but are unable to do so in the MTA:VC Problems & Bugs forum?

POLL : Weapons of the Hunter helicopter , ENABLE or DISABLE
Kong replied to xhispage's topic in General MTA:VC
I think helicopters with weapons (the hunter for one) would be fun to use. However to keep it from being mis used it should only be able to be used in a limited fashion... if that's possible. Someone said Limited Ammo... good idea. I also think it would be good if the weapons only worked against other helicopters. I love the idea of chasing a heli through the city trying to take it down. Or using it to take out the robbers who try to get away in a chopper. If the weapons were able to be used against people on the ground it would give some players an unfair advantage. I guess that's where the Limited ammo would come in handy. -
I found the problem. It seems when I installed MTA:VC v0.2 I forgot to uninstall v0.1. It for some reason was still using the same config file to load the server info. Problem solved. Thanks for the help.

I have a computer I use as a game server. I start the server on that and I connect over LAN and others connect via the internet. I have confirmed that it is not working for users connecting over the net. I've got the server running now if you want to check. I don't want to put my IP on the forums here but you can find the server on that ASE if you use it. Server should be called Kong's MTA Server. My MOTD is in the MOTD.TXT file which is in my MTA folder right where it was when I installed v0.2. It should say... Let me know if you can see it and if you have any suggestions. I feel like I'm missing something but not sure what it could be preventing it from not showing up.
-
Well I dont' know what I'm doing wrong. I've got the server running and I have modified the MOTD.txt to display my own MOTD. However it is not displayed to anyone who connects to the server. Does anyone have any ideas?
-
This may be a stupid question but I thought I'd ask anyway. I didn't see any other info about it on the site or the forums. I've modified my MOTD in the MOTD.TXT file but it's not being displayed when people join the game. Is there anything I need to do for it to work? Change the file extension, move the file, anything?
