  1. It is possible, indeed, to read and parse the GIF file in-game. I wrote a parser for MTA long ago, but it is unfinished, and honestly, there's really no point in continuing it. But if you really want to do it, you'll need the specification for the GIF89a file format (http://www.w3.org/Graphics/GIF/spec-gif89a.txt). You'll also have to implement a compression algorithm needed to decode the image data, and then convert that data to a format that the MTA functions can read (which is, obviously, not covered by the specification - you'll have to figure that out on your own). Honestly, I wouldn't do it again. It's not worth it. And you too will eventually realize it's a waste of time.
  2. Nobody really cares. Discuss your problems in private.
  3. And what is the problem, exactly? It's 3 days, you're not going to die.
  4. Java is an interpreted language, therefore the only way to do it is to write a module in one of the languages I mentioned to create a Java virtual machine from there. Pointless, really, all of it. Lua is good enough.
  5. The modules can be written in any language as long as such language supports exporting a C interface (e.g. C, C++, Rust).

    Question

I have a feeling that's a prebuilt PC, right? Don't. Build your own, it's worth the effort.

It's not an acronym. I don't know why people type LUA and PAWN. Neither are acronyms.

Hitachi is known for their high failure rate, actually. Samsung SSDs ARE good, I don't know where you read that. MrBrutus is right that Corsair makes good power supplies (well, to be honest, they're mostly rebranded Seasonic) and you shouldn't save on that.

They are good. The series you initially chose was just low-end. That's a good power supply and you will have more than enough room for overclocking.
  10. It seems like you are upset with the opinions of the other users. If you didn't want to get this kind of answer, perhaps you shouldn't have asked. It is good work, but it is indeed pointless with CEF integration coming soon to MTA. In fact, it's been around for quite a while, how could you have not heard of it?
  11. That is why I think you should buy the components from other stores. You can buy an HDMI-to-VGA adapter.
  12. Still using the same low-end PSU, need 2x4GB RAM instead of 1x8GB for dual channel, hard disk with 64MB cache would be nice, and you might as well go back to Intel's stock cooler because an aftermarket cooler is pointless if you're not going to overclock (and you can't with that CPU and chipset). Also make sure the graphics card is not the reference edition, they usually come with coolers not quite suitable for overclocking (even if you don't plan to, you will get lower temperatures with a non-reference edition).
  13. Building the PC is very simple, and there are lots of video tutorials out there explaining how to do it step-by-step. It's pretty much just screwing and connecting cables. If you're not sure if a component is compatible, you can always ask or use PCPartPicker instead.
  14. Don't bother trying. It's not possible. You can't copy functions to other Lua VMs.
  15. I think if he's going for a Z97 chipset motherboard, he might as well get the unlocked i5-4690K and if he can't afford a CPU cooler now with all of this, he can always buy one later. It's still cheaper than a new, unlocked CPU.
  16. [quote name=..&G:..]I selected 2GB ram because I know someone that has 8GB rams and could lend me 2 of them, but I changed the specs and got a 16GB ram You're wasting your money. For gaming, you won't need 16GB of RAM. [quote name=..&G:..]Also, I asked the people from pc specialist and they told me that I do not require a higher voltage PSU, the maximum I need is 480, so I'll stay with 550, also, they only have corsairs.. I never mentioned voltage. I'm talking about quality, not power. The power supply is low-end, not even 80 PLUS certified. It doesn't have to be another brand, just not a low-end PSU on a £800 build. [quote name=..&G:..]I am mostly worried about the graphics card, do you think that this 3GB AMD RADEON™ R9 280X - DVI, HDMI, mDP - DX® 11, Eyefinity 4 Capable is any good? It's more than enough for current generation games in high graphics settings.
  17. Nope. £800 build with 2GB of RAM? 8GB is the standard now, at least 4GB is a must, especially for the games you want to play. Definitely change that i7 to an i5 and you might as well change your power supply to a higher quality one (XFX Pro 550W Core Edition is a good one)
  18. Page not found. [quote name=..&G:..]Btw, which graphics card do you guys think is the best? For you? Depends on the budget.
  19. It's up to you. Choose whatever you like the most that fits in your budget. All you need to do is make sure that the motherboard you choose is compatible with your case, as in form factor. Any midtower should be compatible with the ATX form factor, which is the most common.
  20. What else is there in the case that you'll keep? You're basically building a whole new PC, only keeping the case. [quote name=..&G:..]The thing is that inspiron 530 has only 2 motherboards, and none of them support the i3 or i5 series. Also, Radeon HD7850 has only 2GB dedicated memory, and I want at least 3GB just to make sure I can run games on medium at least, with a decent FPS and maybe no lag. 2 motherboards? Where did you see that? The case is a midtower, you should be able to put in there any ATX-sized motherboard.
  21. Don't bother wasting your money on old components. You're not going to play any of these games at a decent frame rate with that. Get some more money (min. £500 budget) and build a whole new PC with newer components.
  22. Definitely, but I'd go for a 4th generation i3 like the i3-4160: http://ark.intel.com/m/products/77488/I ... ifications You will however need to choose another motherboard that supports the LGA1150 socket.
